To ask if a car alarm can go off all night without the car battery dying?

I have put headphones on as there is a car alarm that has been going off for about an hour. I don't drive, so don't know how these things work, but will the battery die?

It's a really annoying car alarm sound as well. I'm hoping it's owner will notice.

It can, but it doesn't use much power, so it would take a couple of months, I think. Ideally the owner will have noticed before then.

Thankfully the owner did. I think I would have started to pull my hair out otherwise! :)
