Ohh thanks Something. I loved the film, read the book and am now loving the TV series. The difference for me is definitely context. I watched film and read book when I was still young enough to think things would be better for my daughter. I look around now and I think they are still just not good enough.

Bit disappointed. Not many laughs and the romance fell a bit flat. Prefer Sex & The City.

I look at Syria and I fear how quickly things can unravel, for women in particular.

Absolutely agree about context.

So yes, I fear for my children, but especially DD.

I've watched the first two and really enjoying it.
What I can't understand is I didn't really like the book at all which surprised me as I would usually enjoy this genre. I think maybe I didn't have any idea about what the storyline was about before reading and expected something more fast moving.

I'd definitely recommend Oryx and Crake and After the Flood for people wanting to read some Margaret Atwood. It's a trilogy but I haven't read the final one yet.

I've also got my eye on The Heart Goes Last.

MA is such a brilliant writer and I've liked everything of hers so far.

I've been living under a rock as despite being a bit of a book worm I'd never even heard of it! Shocking I know.
Just watched the first episode though and it was emotional, moving and brilliantly acted.
It was also scares me more than any horror film I've ever watched.
