I live in a terrace. Three doors down (middle of terrace) has been mowing the lawn since 7.30. So can I send the kids out in the garden now? Everyone will have been woken up already right? They are itching to get outside.

Beer - good question. I work shifts so it'd probably bother me on a weds too if I was on a late and it woke me. I think there should just be common sense when it comes to noise - I would always try and be quiet before 9am and after 8/9pm, maybe earlier or later depending on what I'm doing and how loud it is.
I find most peolle run on the assumption that everyone works mon-fri 9-5. I work shifts and sometimes have to be uo at 5am on a Saturday morning. But my neighbours seem to think every Friday night is an excuse for a party till 3am blasting music. All the people that tell me to "suck it up" have wkends off so don't appreciate how stressful that is. I'm sure they wouldn't be saying it if I was their Monday night!
