"Thanks for calling back. you are a self centred tosspot."

because he didn't come in last night and when I phoned him at 11 to see where he was he couldn't string a sentrence together..

then he said he was going out tonight rather than coming in, called him when I was driving home (hands free) but reception was bad so he said "I'll call you in a bit when you're home" he knew I was five minutes away from home and that was 2.5 hours ago... he'll be in the pub by now

WideWebWitch · 16/03/2007 21:11

No, you were right by the sound of it.

MascaraOHara · 16/03/2007 21:13

He will probably take your text as a compliment.

MascaraOHara · 16/03/2007 21:26

just went overboard, oops

my last text just read
"whatever, you are such an alchy loser, beer comes first again!"

I can never just be quiet

Men never grow up and they never see anything that they do as inconsiderate. Do you find that if you have a go at them for doing something wrong they turn it around as though its your fault and then you start questioning yourself. YOu end up feeling guilty.

staceym11 · 16/03/2007 21:42

if he is in the pub he may not register your text so dont feel guilty until he mentions it! have said similar to dh before but then he walked in the door with a surprise bunch of flowers......soem do surprise ya!

would prob say dont text anymore as you're likely to stew yourself up, maybe best to try and calm and attack (not literally) the situation once he's home

tribpot · 16/03/2007 21:46

Very unfair to say that men never grow up. Some men - possibly even many men - don't but there are plenty of examples of men who don't act like complete arses. Sorry but going out and getting trolleyed to this extent two nights in a row - unacceptable.

MascaraOHara · 16/03/2007 21:56

yeah well he is a tosspot.

Won't see him now until Sunday

OP posts:
powder28 · 16/03/2007 22:04

Arrange to go out on sunday and tell him you are very busy and wont be able to see him until monday, if he's lucky

wpcanniecartwright · 16/03/2007 22:06

no, not unreasonable...

helenhismadwife · 17/03/2007 12:47

sounds perfectly reasonable to me, probably more polite than I would have been

FlossALump · 17/03/2007 12:50

DP is not unknown to stay out sometimes (well once that I can remember recently!) but he always lets me know and faces my wrath(!) and he would never dare to go out the next night too!

It sounds from your post that you DH has a problem with booze?

Blu · 17/03/2007 12:50

Well yes, he is a tosspot.

And as for the men never grow up line...well some do.
not unreasonable for sending the text, but would question where you reason has escaped to in your continuing involvement!!
