To tell you all that I just got into a SIZE 10 Dress!?

I'm 44 and before my children (now 12 and 9!) I was a size 10-12.

After DD2 (I had two sections) I put on a lot and have been between a 14 and 16 for the past 9 years.

I never felt THAT unhappy with my weight but did find it hard to get jeans that didn't either fall down or cut in etc and my ankles were starting to suffer.

Well...almost a year ago I gave up smoking and started vaping...I didn't worry about putting on weight because I was vaping.

Then we moved to a bigger house with a large garden and a month after the move I realised I'd lost half a stone...all I'd done differently was move about more due to the move which we did ourselves (no removal men) and having a big garden.

I hadn't changed what I'd eaten at all apart from cutting down a little on cola.

I just bought a dress...a size ten! It fecking fits! I live in Australia so I'm not sure if that's the same as a UK ten...I'm originally from the UK and a size 14 here seems very like a UK 14.

I thought my bastard jeans were getting a bit clownish! I've been putting a belt on them but thehy were still falling down!

I wanted to share this so others might get inspiration...especially the smokers! I think smoking was having a HUGE effect on my energy levels.

IME Australia sizes are a bit weird - either the same or run small.
I'm a uk 10 but an Australian 12-14. That aside, either way well done!

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 25/05/2017 05:13

Fantastic, good for you!

MaitlandGirl · 25/05/2017 05:26

That's fantastic - well done :)

Bluebiscuits · 25/05/2017 05:26

Well done, that's fab! Sounds like you need to buy some new jeans too!

Sunshineandgin · 25/05/2017 05:32

Awesome! Australian sizing may vary in actual measurements to UK but that makes no difference to the fact you've lost two dress sizes, 14 to a 10 is great whatever the inches!

Cock this is a vintage dress...it's certainly nowhere near a UK 14....I have my entire wardrobe here to compare it to.

My jeans which are a UK 12 and which never fitted me are now too loose!

I do feel better...I don't really care about being skinny...I just wanted to be healthier. :D

It's the smoking thing I tell you!

Congratulations OP! YANBU Grin

Cocklodger · 25/05/2017 06:26

I didn't say It would be near a uk 14, other way around.
If it is running small that'd make you smaller than a uk 10 not bigger Smile either way congrats!

BeeThirtythree · 25/05/2017 06:35

Great stuff! Congratulations on the 10! Do you find having a bigger garden more relaxing? Do you feel better moving? Did that have an impact? Brilliant on the no smoking too! Enjoy your new home and new wardrobe

Bee yes...it's a bit hard work at times...I feel like a slightly crappy farmer because it's got a few outbuildings and chickens too....I stump around gingerly trying to work out what things are! Grin
