The Speigel article quotes Trump as using the word 'böse', which IIRC means 'evil' as opposed to 'bad'. What the fuck is wrong with that man? 'Evil' is reserved for morally bankrupt people, for dictators, for regimes. He uses 'evil' because he thinks they sell too many cars in the US?

Wasn't the White House already conducting a witch hunt for leakers? And pushing the FBI to investigate even leaks things that weren't confidential? The Senate and House hearings repeatedly asked about leaks.

How is there room to step this up?

Was the WH just pretending to investigate leakers? Or is there now going to be some weird deflection onto the leak of Manchester material, away from all the other leaks?

It likely would - they're in recess for August, I think, and then you have the time for legal arguments and consideration. Even with a headwind, I'd have thought late 2017, maybe even early 2018.

I caught a bit of Al Jazeera this afternoon.

It seems that Trump has pushed NATO to formally join the anti-ISIS coalition led by the US.

The commentator, probably quite rightly, was saying that it's just language. That most countries will continue to do whatever they have been doing, just calling it "fighting ISIS". Such things include ships patrolling the Mediterranean.

But it's nice to have an official pat on the back, I suppose.
