To think overdue before =overdue again?

I'm 36 weeks pregnant with #4 and have been overdue with all my other 3 pregnancies.

I'm I BU to think it's highly likely it'll happen again this time based on my history?

I was overdue with my first 2 and my third was a few weeks early

I've only had two but I was a week over with dd1 but just a couple of hours with dd2. There's always hope.

This is the first time I'm actually hoping to go slightly over! It would mean DH can help out with school runs hopefully up until older DC break up.
Thanks for sharing your experiences, I think the fact is there's no predictable pattern frustratingly!

1st = due date (no sweep or induction)
2nd = 6 days over (sweep at 40+3)
3rd = due date (sweep at 39+6)

I was overdue with all 4.
You may get a surprise though, for my first 3, each time I got more overdue so was convinced number 4 would be 2 weeks over!!
1 - 7 days over
2 - 10 days over
3 - 12 days over
4 - 4 days over

Not much difference I know but still!

I went that way for me, but less over due each time.

DC1 - 40+7
DC2 - 40+6
DC3 - 40+5

I have elephant pregnancies apparently!

redheadbarmaid how did you avoid going mad?! Did you have to be induced in the end?

I went 13 days over last time and I was unbearable to live with, I'm sure.

I had sloooooooow labour with last DD, contractions every evening then stopping at night for bloody WEEKS!

Ended up sitting on my ball and used my breastpump which tipped me over the edge into 'proper' labour. Went from 2cm to pushing in 40 minutes and she was born one push later

Weirdly I was exactly ten days overdue with all three. My body obviously has a very fixed timescale for gestation

Ds was a due date baby and I'm currently 38+5 with DC2. I have a horrible feeling DS lulled me into a false sense of security and I'm going to end up going waaaay over. I'm already bad tempered and ready to get this baby out 😩

Mine was random - 7 days early then 13 days late then 11 days early.

With both I was induced but ds1 at least came quickly when he was told! Went into hospital teatime on Wed and he was born at 04.50 the next morning.

Ds2 had other ideas and after a failed induction he turned up at his own pace 2 days later while waiting to have my waters broken!

I'm sure my stories aren't exactly filling u with confidence though haha!!

think its luck of the draw - my daughter was born at 42 weeks - i had to be induced. My son came at 40 + 5 days.. first labour was 3 days, my son took 3 hours. Good luck.
