My 8 year old son is asking what sex is and I don't think he will stop asking until he knows. Can anyone recommend a book that he can look at and read alongside what I tell him. Something suitable for an 8/9 year old and talks about sex and what to expect as he gets older re changes in body. Thanks.

A friend has used 'sex is a funny word' and rated it. She said it was good as it talks about feelings etc, not just biology.

We just got 'it's not the stork' (www.amazon.co.uk/d/cka/Its-Not-Stork-Families-Friends-Library-Paperback/0763633313) although my DDs are a bit younger than your son, so maybe the next one 'It's so amazing' (www.amazon.co.uk/Its-So-Amazing-Families-Paperback/dp/0763668745/ref=pd_bxgy_14_img_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=DPPZ5DJK07YEQZNTNAAE) would be better for him. They're both very straight forward and comprehensive, and my girls were pretty fascinated.

I read this one with my DS10. It gives the facts in detail and is full of information about what will happen during puberty. It's also 3.99 on Amazon...

We have Claire Rayner's The Body Book www.amazon.co.uk/Body-Book-Non-fiction-Claire-Rayner/dp/0590556088?tag=mumsnetforum-21
It's told in a very matter of fact way. My 7 year old has read it and I think it explains it all well
