Ds 11 and dsd 10 are always fighting. Obviously they aren't biological siblings, but DH and I have been together for nearly 9 years and dsd spends half the week here so I don't think it's a step sibling issue.

They've always fought, always, but when they get on they're lovely to watch. But recently they're so much more physical with each other. There's no set pattern as to who starts it but I am sick of having to pull them off each other.

I suppose what I'm talking about is normal to a point, but I'm so frustrated over telling older children not to hit each other. We've disciplinrd and disciplined but they are still at it.

So to this morning, I'm in one room they're in another. Heard screaming went in and they're both booting each other. Neither of them will admit who started it. So they're both in their rooms. This is the 4th or 5th time in the last few days. I'm seriously getting to the point where I'm thinking of banning them playing together at all or not letting them in the same room, impractical though it sounds. Aibu or should I just lock them in the garage....

Well whatever the consequences are then they clearly don't care enough about them.... What would they hate to loose/not have happen (might be a different thing for each). Every time it happens that consequence is applied instantly (no warning, violence is not ok ever, so you don't get warnings to stop). It'll take about 3-4 weeks, but if you pick a consequence they really care about and apply it relentlessly you'l l see change...

We would get pocket money docked at that age (before other options of wifi or phone/iPad). If they're not bothered, could you leave them to it to sort, or is one of the getting the brunt?
