to not recommend rival providers?

well actually I do provide details but don't recommend as I don't want any comeback on me.

I'm a childminder and if I'm not able to accommodate someone's request they always ask me to recommend someone else. It's odd because I don't know of any other business where you would do this. I do get slightly miffed because I pay for decent advertising and try to be prompt when responding to enquiries.

Can you think of any?

Surely it works both ways?

And there's no legal ramifications for you if it didn't work out! That's ridiculous.

Yeah "We don't have that but /rival store/ down the road does" was a common phrase in retail when I worked there.

DPs solicitor recommended someone else for a particular business transaction. Our current cleaner was recommended by a another cleaner who was already fully booked. Seems to be pretty common in all sorts of professions

Ih and DDs singing teacher was suggested to us by a different teacher who taugt one of her friends. Result... when someone asked us about singing teachers we gave them details of both and original teacher got business as DDs fully booked at that time
