To ask how much your weekly shop is?

We are a family of 5 (2 adults+3DC) spending about 130-150 on food and toiletries on our weekly shop. No alcohol or cigarettes and I tend to cook from scratch.

If you manage to spend less, how do you do it? Any tips welcome as really want to cut the bill down as much as possible.

Two adults- max £40 a week. This doesn't usually include toiletries as we both most stuff in a big shop once a year (soap, washing powder, shampoo, razors, bleach etc).

It completely varies. Yesterday I went with half a shopping list and spend just over £90. That did include bathroom scales and the 2 dine for £10 meal deal. There are some weeks all we need is a bit of a fruit/bread/milk top up so get by on £20. Other weeks it can be £80. I'm guessing on average around £50-£60 a week.

I usually meal plan and have a proper shopping list. We buy lots of frozen veg, and for our roast usually have a whole chicken (which I find cheaper than other joints), a gammon joint or pork if it's on offer. Other joints are more treats (though I bought beef yesterday!). We buy plenty of fruit, but berries will be frozen ones. We eat meat with every meal and I do cook mainly from scratch (though there are days when I use a jar/freezer food). There is a bottle of wine most weeks, and we usually buy a big pack of lagers once every 6 weeks or so.

Oh, we're 2 adults, an almost 4 year old and a baby who is not yet being weaned but plenty of nappies/wipes. No formula due to an intolerance, we get it from the doctor.

Two adults an 8YO and two rabbits. About £45. This doesn't include alcohol : we brew our own, school meals (another 12.00) or the top up veggie and milk run in the middle of the week; but does include laundry stuff/bleach/cleaner etc.

2 adults 1 child - approx £90-140 per week but that includes food, toiletries, booze and usually clothes or a toy or a gift

If I was to guess just our food would be about £70-80 per week
