OMG, that cartoon brought a tear to my eye.

Lweji · 23/05/2017 16:33

It is quite touching.

From Twitter.....
Trump, Obama notes left at Israel's memorial for the Holocaust.

A Tale of 2 Men...

As usual, it's all about him, isn't it and everything is an honour. He has the diction of a 7yr old

The man is an intellectual lightweight.

AcrossthePond55 · 23/05/2017 16:51

Jeez Louise! His note sounds like a 'thank you' speech at a surprise birthday party! And once again it's all about him. He was obviously unmoved by Yad Vashem, which is further proof that he's basically dead inside.

I've noticed lately (well, more than usual) that everyone is his 'friend'. His fans are his 'friends'. Theresa is his friend. Bibi is his friend. Xi is his 'great friend' (choc cake sealed the deal), Putin is was his friend . It shows how stupid and naive he really is. How easily manipulated and bamboozled. Just like a 5 year old. Offer him some candy (i.e. compliments) and he thinks you're his BFF for life (or until you piss him off).

Golondrina · 23/05/2017 16:52

He's a fucking dickheaded imbecile.

Stuffofawesome · 23/05/2017 17:01

Never forget is usually used with different tone in relation to the Holocaust is it not?

MicrowaveSpy · 23/05/2017 17:06

He's a fucking dickheaded imbecile.

That sums him up nicely.

MicrowaveSpy · 23/05/2017 17:11

We have been watching the Roger Stone documentary on Netflix.

There's another vile creature. Interesting to see the 'political rise' of Trump.

illegitimateMortificadospawn · 23/05/2017 17:28

He's a fucking dickheaded imbecile.

That sums him up nicely.

Whilst I salute the sentiment, I feel this statement unfairly maligns all the decent, harmless imbeciles.

I 'think' that Grassley is in a seat that might well be pretty dodgy come 2018, Lweji.

RedToothBrush · 23/05/2017 17:30

I have to say that actually I think that using the word 'loser' rather than 'monster' because that's what ISIS want to be labelled is actually a very good way to respond. It being belittling as if a child who has lost a game stops them from being regarding as some sort of solider. It infantilises their cause. It removes some of their intent to create fear.

I remember Adam Hills talking about something similar and being told by security forces to do a similar thing. This is why they have often used the word 'dick' about other such incidences.

Indeed the word daesh is acronym, but it sounds like several Arabic words which carry a similar derogatory tone. One of these I believe is something akin to 'fool'.

Strangely I thought it was a good comment from Trump, and the use of language was appropriate and there is an argument that everyone should do similar.

I'm interested to see AndHoldTheBun's medic DH and his colleagues reckon Trump could be suffering from dementia. I've thought that (from my lay-person's perspective) for a while, and for similar reasons. His interviews from 20 years ago, he comes across as a narcissistic, self-centred braggart, but not a stupid one. The move to "understanding of a toddler" comes across as a recent thing. I do think he's quite severely cognitively impaired.

Golondrina · 23/05/2017 17:47

I wouldn't be surprised if he has dementia. I mean he's 70, isn't he? He's not a young man. I don't know much about dementia but I read an article a while back saying that with hindsight, the signs of dementia could be seen in the changes in how Reagan spoke, up to 5 years before he was diagnosed. The vocabulary reduced massively apparently.
It would certainly explain some of it. Either that or he's just really stupid and totally uneducated. He certainly comes across as barely literate a lot of the time.

Lweji · 23/05/2017 17:49

Thr debate around using the word loser is not dissimilar to considering these lone attackers as simply mad or disturbed, rather than part of an ISIS evil plan. It does take power from them and puts them into similar territory as mass murderers.

What I think is always important is to separate the actions by these people (attackers and ISIS/Daesh) from ordinary Muslims who really just want peace.

OTOH,

I study the psychology of adolescent bullies. Trump makes perfect sense to me.
"Kids who dominate other kids are often popular — for a littlewhile."
