The worst thing is there is no close button and the bloody ads follow you when you scroll to try to escape.

YANBU. Trying to read the site from a phone with all that going on is a PITA!

I use an iPhone to post and the pop-up ads are horrendous. Lately they "buzz" up and down and appear to have the ability not to allow the posting box to stay steady enough for me to type in it.
How long do people put up with this?

I had one for erectile dysfunction yesterday.

I have to constantly refresh pages to get rid of them. I don't like the desktop site for similar reasons anymore now the mobile site is becoming unusable.

Is that the mobile or desktop version? I don't get those on my phone.

Agree with pp. ad block is your friend even on mobile.

I sometimes get them on mobile but if I hit refresh it magics them away. Thank goodness, super annoying.

The site is free and they have to make money to keep it going. The ads rarely annoy me, except that blue smurf.

I don't mind the banner ads at the top of the page. I don't even mind the huge ones that appear in the middle of threads but these huge intrusive ones that take up such a large percentage of the screen and squash mumsnrtvinto a corner are awful.

^^ Absolutely agree with LooksBetter. I've switched to using Firefox on my phone - you can have ad blocking as standard which removes all ads. So far so good.

My adblocker is working a treat then cos I can't see any

I got sick of it too so I use the app which is ad free! Much cleaner to use too

They're awful which is why I have adblocker.

Was just about to say that I also don't like the ads that follow you up and down the screen, when the add that is currently following me up and down the screen burst into sound. Dear Dog, I don't definitely don't need that.

Try asking them to move this to Site Stuff - there are a few threads about this I think
