Best thing I won was a trip to the new Warcraft exhibition at Madame Tussauds London and meet Travis Fimmel, Paula Patton, Toby Kebbell and David Bowie's son who directed it David Jones. Of course I was pretty made up meeting good ol Travis (or Ragnar if you watch Vikings, also a good series) and then we ended up on the dvd too so was a good good day, only problem.....i wish I could do it again!!!! Mmmmm Travis Fimmel Wink

Can confirm, it says earn not win.
Source - I may or may not work for said company...

I've won TWICE on Mumsnet for which I have only had to spend four two hours a day on this site for 13 years. Won any item of my choice from the Boden catalogue (great prize but still makes me laugh) plus overnight stay in Lunnon for a party, and £50 shopping voucher. Have stopped entering as it seems unfair. Am like that, always lazy thinking of others.

After passing an Ikea bag scan, we discovered my 11 month old had stolen a Panda (outside the store and didn't have time to go back). We now refer to it as 'Klepto the Panda'. Sounds an appropriately Ikea-esque name.

My dd won a £50 amazon voucher, last year, in a prize draw for having 100% attendance at school. I'd spent weeks telling her that it would highly unlikely that her name would be pulled out of the hat. Ds has started school now and both of them have 100% attendance so far so I'm worried that ds may have high expectations!

flummoxed I once won a Walkman in a "spot the sun over the Tyne Bridge" competition that was printed on the back label on Newcastle Brown Ale bottles. You were allowed one x per label.

I sent off 143 labels. Grin

Love this. Grin

I had a run of winning digital radios from the same radio station... 4 in total. The silly thing was, the final one involved writing a begging letter explaining why you deserved a radio, and I mentioned the other 3...

Does anyone remember Tammy Girl back in the '80s?

When I was 7 I entered a competition in the local paper and I won £100 worth of Tammy Girl vouchers. That was a lot of money to a 7 year old! I remember going into the shop and feeling all overwhelmed that I could just pick out loads of items and be able to keep them! (I also got to model some of the clothes for the local paper, so it was a double win for my 7 year old little self!)

Also won two return flights to Australia after entering a competition on a Singapore Airline flight to... Australia! Worked out really well actually because my first trip was cut short due to a fall out with my friend. Two months later I went back with another friend! Grin

Hadsuchahardday · 19/05/2017 21:36

I won tickets to Live 8 in 2005 by sending 5 texts a day for 4 weeks. When I was 16 I won a Beverly Hills Cop 2 jacket from smash hits, and last yr won £100 M&S vouchers at DD summer Fayre.
How do you enter MN competitions?

Seefooddiet · 19/05/2017 21:53

My friend found a golf ball in a pot noodle once and thought she'd won something awesome yet there were no competition details on the packaging.
Turns out there was no competition and Pot Noodle denied there was ever a golf ball.
But there really was!

Ooh I've won £150 gift voucher on MN plus a few books as well.

tinatsarina · 20/05/2017 09:47

I very rarely win anything but that doesn't stop me from trying

Wholovesorangesoda · 20/05/2017 14:07

I won a £100 amazon gift voucher once. I left a review on a website and a few days later had an email about it. This was maaaaany years ago, I didn't even know what amazon was at the time. Best thing was I didn't even know it was a competition I had just left a review for fun and had to double check it wasn't a scam.

Housemum · 20/05/2017 15:14

Best competition wins:

  • £250 Amazon voucher from MN (bought some of Christmas presents then a mahoosive luxury Christmas tree that I'd never have bought otherwise)
  • hogwarts express Lego kit in the year that Harry Potter Lego was rare as rocking horse poo. DD1 was vv happy on Christmas Day. That was on an Amazon prize draw, stunned as I never believed anyone won those!
