Ideas for mothers birthday? City break?

My mum is turning 40 this year, and I'm wondering what would be a nice weekend away, don't have to rule out party spots etc! Just somewhere nice from experience ? Rome , London? Not sure at all.

Does she like spas? If so, moddershall oaks is blissful.

If you decide you want a party spot, Barcelona is great as it's a v short flight and loads to do.

What is the budget? What sort of things does she like doing?

Paris? Vienna? Florence?

Bath?

My mum and I went to Budapest for one of her big 0 birthdays and Glasgow for another one. Both great places to visit in their own ways.
