AIBU to get in touch with the dog warden.

Posted the other day about my neighbourghs out of control dogs just been outside now and one of them was running lose round the garden they run off when they heard another dog barking don't know where the dog has gone to WIBU to try and contact the dog warden to catch the dog before they get hurt incase they are still running lose. I live right by a busy main road.

Pretty certain you wont be able to get hold of a dog warden this evening, most of them are only available at certain times during the day and probably not at weekends.

Could try knocking on neighbour's door and telling them you've seen their dog out, although if they're the sort of people who let their dog roam around at will they probably wont care.

Probably not a lot you can do at this time of night, but in your shoes I'd definitely ring the dog warden at some point and report what's happened.

PigsDOfly thank you I would tell my neighbourgh but I know she had plans to get pissed and probably stoned tonight so that could be how the dog has wound up outside on its own. Its a staffie dog and I don't want it in my house again after the problems I had on Friday I was already thinking about reporting them and their out of control dogs. I will wait and see what happens and try and find a number for the dog warden in the morning. Just don't want this dog running lose anything to could happen to it.

I don't usually say phone the Police but if its a busy road and a hefty dog , its much more likely to be involved in an RTA.
Can you phone 101 to warn them that the dog is potentially on the road? They might have a patrol car in the area and can maybe see it?

Best case scenario - they find it, impound it, gives the owners a rollicking and no-one ends up wrapped round a tree as they try to (instinctively) avoid it.

Worst case scenario.............. someone innocent gets injured.

Hopefully they would be able to catch the dog before she causes a serious accident if she is still running round which I think she might be because I didn't hear anyone taking her in. I just seen her disapper around the side of the building.

Nothing to add but I'm so sorry you're going through all this. Keep a log of every incident with the dog.

BillyButtfuck Thank you just reached the end of my teather with these people and their dogs now. I will keep a record of every incident with these dogs and hopefully something will be done about them. Just don't want to get my self in to bother with these neighbourghs thats the only problem. I've only lived here for a month and I moved in here for the peaceful life and so far am not getting it.

Neighbours can be the worst and I completely get not wanting to fall out with people you see all the time and have to essentially live with, but you have to stand up to people like this or they'll just take the piss.
You have rights to quiet enjoyment in your own home and you shouldn't be up all night worried or intimidated about aggressive neighbours or dogs.
I'm absolutely terrified of dogs asfter being very badly attached as a child, if I were you I'd be too frightened to leave the house (which would be over reacting but I am so scared of them). You need to nip this shit in the bud.

BillyButtfuck exactly your right I don't partically want to fall out with these neighbourghs because I don't know them well enough to know what they would do if I ended up falling out with them. Thank you right I am a bit worried about this dog and do want to report it but I want to keep my name out of it as much as possible. Could I make an anonymous report to 101 about the dog. I use to be scared of dogs after being attacked by one myself but my parents found a way of helping me over come my fear but just because I love dogs doesn't mean to say that I want them in my home frightening the shit out of my poor defenceless cats.

I have let the out of hours dog warden know about the dog hopefully they will be able to catch the dog.

Is the dog still AWOL?

D'you if its microchipped (it became a legal requirement I think last year , but of course not everyone will comply )

They run the risk of the dog attacking another dog/cat/person , being run over , being stolen for fight or bait .

My DD was terrified of dogs when she was young, I think even now she'd panic if a lone loose dog came thundering towards her.

And if its out loose , the dog will be scared itself. Scared animals defence is often attack.

Hope he gets home safe and gives the NDN a bloody good wake-up call.

70isaLimitNotaTarget it looks like they got the dog back she's now got no collar on I hope they got a right rollocking when the dog came back. I don't know if they are microchipped chances are they probably aren't. I can only imagine how terrified that poor dog was when she got left outside on her own god knows how long she had been out there for.
