My DP forgot our anniversary last week, said he'll make it up to me, spends Saturday out with a friend all day then comes back with a bag from the gourmet shop for me and tells me he bought me a present.... Wait for it..... Salt!!

Was it fancy salt? Grin

Crunchymum · 14/05/2017 23:26

Pink Himelayan salt I assume? Grin

therootoftheroot · 14/05/2017 23:26

how did he forget your anniversary?

I never understand threads on here where people say things like 'dh forgot my birthday/anniversary'

why are you not all saying for a couple of weeks before hand....'it's nearly my birthday/our anniversary. what do you fancy doing?'

'shall we go away for our anniversary?'

i'd really like to do xyz for my birthday'

'if anyone asks i'd love abc for my birthday'

i don'#t get why you wouldn't

is it like a test?

Kittencatkins123 · 14/05/2017 23:35

I bloody love salt.

WonkoTheSane42 · 14/05/2017 23:44

Are you feeling salty about it?

Realjournal123 · 14/05/2017 23:45

Yeh it was a test. It was pink herb salt mix but jeez- I can't even be bothered to get annoyed any more! I smiled and said oh lovely!!

DH announced today it's been a year since we got our chickens. He can remember that but never remembers our wedding anniversary Hmm

Notmyrealname85 · 14/05/2017 23:54

Say "I can't wait for you to book that weekend away for our anniversary" with a face like :|

it's just you that finds a forgotten anniversary followed by no effort then a boys night out acceptable. I'd be long gone. The salt is totally incidental.

PovertyPain · 15/05/2017 00:18

Well, if it is your 8th wedding anniversary, he's right and it's quite a smart gift.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 15/05/2017 00:27

Maybe you are supposed to rub it in the wounds you are about to give him?

nosleepforme · 15/05/2017 00:27

well, i've reminded hubby about our upcoming anniversary in the most subtle way, and he insists that i have our wedding date wrong... again! we have the same discussion every time. i am just going to accept that he will never learn.
