To consider calling in sick tomorrow

I am just so so low right now. I have a history of depression but for the most part I've had it under control. I haven't taken time off work for my mental health in nearly 3 years. I've been at work today but honestly I just want to crawl into my bed and never leave. I don't know what's happened to me to feel this way but I can't face work tomorrow.

PurpleDaisies brilliant typo Grin

Flowers OP. Please see your GP

Questioningeverything · 14/05/2017 21:51

Please see your gp. If you're worried have you got the number for the crisis team in your area?
Call the samaritans if you want to talk it out, that was some advice given to me.
Whatever you do, do speak to your doctor. The right medication and the care of someone who knows what they're doing or saying can make all the difference.

See your doctor - and don't feel embarrassed. If you had a broken leg you'd see a doctor urgently. If your head is broken you need to do the same. 🌺Take care

So I went to work, ended up having a little breakdown and came clean to my manager about how I'm feeling. She referred me to occupational health, and sent me home so I can get an appointment with my doctor. I'm going to stay at my mum's for a few days so I can get some rest. I feel desperately guilty about leaving my kids for this but my method of ignoring it clearly isn't working.
Thankyou everyone for your kind words x

Glad that you have addressed this at work, well done. Have you got a GP appointment?

Bigblug · 15/05/2017 12:47

That's good news. Get the rest you need and hopefully the doctor will help you figure out where to go from here. Glad your boss was so supportive. Dont feel guilty for your kids at all they need a healthy mum.

Tapandgo · 15/05/2017 12:53

No guilty thoughts needed - it's not in your control and it's a hideous condition.🌺

LockedOutOfMN · 15/05/2017 13:32

Well done, OP!

Hope you can get to see the GP sooner than next Thursday. Take care.

Huge well done for speaking to work about it, thats a huge step and is a massive step in managing your own health better than you feel you have done. Hopefully occy health will offer you some support aswell. Well done x

Well done! Not an easy thing to do and you managed it.
