Large, bright blue, high powered BMW, number plate TO12 LET. While trying not to give the owner the attention they so desperately want, I did notice it was a male driver. AIBU to wonder what kind of person he is? OK it might have been a gift, he might not be the owner, he might think it fits his job as an estate agent. Yes, I do have too much time on my hands at the moment but would anyone else try to create a picture in their mind's eye?

Ha ha i thought plumber. Thought it was toilet

HallowedMimic · 12/05/2017 12:49

I'd have read it as 'toilet' and assumed he was a plumber!

Justmadeperfectflapjacks · 12/05/2017 12:50

He is an immense ibs sufferer and it does in fact say toilet. . .

Maudlinmaud · 12/05/2017 12:50

Toilet Grin

NoLoveofMine · 12/05/2017 12:56

Could it not have happened by accident? That's how number plates are formed aren't they? I'm sure our car has the two letters, two numbers (year) and three letters format.

ArgyMargy · 12/05/2017 13:09

Oh yes, definitely toilet. I wonder why plumber never occurred to me. On a van that would make sense but this was an exec type car. Why would anyone want to associate themselves with a toilet (even a plumber really)?

NoLove no accident. The plates that can be interpreted as words are taken out of normal circulation and put onto the site where you can pay stupid amounts of money for them.

Thanks for explaining Argy. I was thrown by the "12" also being a marker for early 2012 registrations but that makes sense!

FriedPisces · 12/05/2017 13:12

Could be an Estate Agent - I thought it looked a bit like To Let...

FriedPisces · 12/05/2017 13:13

Oh crap you already said that. Blush

Estate agent I think!

Well he can't be any worse than the white Mercedes I saw yesterday with the number plate:

TH11 GUY.

Fucking Arsehole.

ArgyMargy · 12/05/2017 13:24

Haha love it NoLove!!

Twatty estate agent in a shiny suit springs to mind!

I once saw a Range Rover that had B055, I can't remember the first 3 (but it probably spelled 'the'). Urgh.

OdinsLoveChild · 12/05/2017 13:39

Maybe its a company car for somewhere like 'Thomas Crapper' or 'Armitage Shanks'. JCB have 'JCB1 through to JCB 123456' type number plates.

ArgyMargy · 12/05/2017 13:42

Good point Odin, I didn't think of that. A toilet salesman would make sense. There may be TO11 LET, TO10 LET, TO13 LET somewhere near you!

I'd love it if he turned out to be a Foxtons style estate agent who just didn't realise that his licence plate spelled "toilet" Grin

I just think 'prick' when I see a private plate, so I'm leaning towards estate agent, which I know is harsh, because lots of them are lovely, normal people. However, lots of them are also shiny-suit-wearing posers who overuse 'yourself' and 'ourselves' in conversation.

Boss of Pimlico Plumbers
I totally guessed that as soon as I read the op!
Go Me! Wink

user1494597553 · 12/05/2017 15:04

Not high powered though. It's a 2lt diesel.

ArgyMargy · 12/05/2017 16:05

Ooh Pimlico Plumbers you lot are so clever! But what's this about automatic 2lt diesel? I followed the link but am confused. TO12 LET is not on their list. Have you put the reg into the DVLA or summat?

OP posts:
ArgyMargy · 12/05/2017 16:09

OK yes I put reg into DVLA and OK it's only 2 litre but that colour is often the GT version. But my point is made I think Grin
