They haven't said they will. They haven't said they won't.

But Theresa May wanted to increase National Insurance but failed because of the last manifesto.

So this time - I bet there'll be no mention of taxes. No commitments.

And they will go up as a war chest to get through the next few years.

Good. They need to.

Good. I wouldn't mind paying a little more tax, and I am not a higher rate payer.

But will they say they are going to put up taxes?

Yep, and so they should. A lot of people want more investment / spending but don't seem to want to pay the taxes for it.

I dont think that they have published their manifesto yet.
The NI rise for the self employed was stopped - be interesting to see if it crops up again!

I don't think they've published their manifesto yet, nor has one leaked.

There are some mutterings about an increase to NI, but I've not spotted anything else (yet?)

I got the impression that she wants to keep taxes low but doesn't want to put it in the manifesto just in case they need to put them up in the future. She can't guarantee that an increase won't be needed so she's not going tie herself in. Sensible in my books.

ladypw, sounds a plan - by then it will be too late for people to complain i suppose. The NI rise was scrapped within weeks - i found that a bit odd at the time, then the election was called!
