to ask your 'must do' cleaning bits

Just coming out the other side of a bit of a breakdown so try not to judge. Flat became HORRIBLE. Cleaner/tidier came in and saved the day.
I work long hours throughout the week so am going to do a bit of a tidy on a Sunday and then have the cleaner in for a Tuesday run round.

What are your essential clean bits? Tidy bits? Help please - I can't afford more than an hour a week at this point but want to make the most.

Kitchen and bathroom actually cleaned. Sinks / toilet / bath properly cleaned.
Anywhere else just tidied up - blitz with vacuum occasionally....

Yes, same as Ruby.

Glad you're feeling better than you were.

Kitchen and bathroom. Any surfaces for food prep should be clean and floors need to be clean. They're the most important part as they relate to your health...you don't want dirt from the street on your floor and your food areas need to be very clean. Dust and all that won't harm you though.x

If your cleaner only has an hour, I would make sure that surfaces are clear - pile papers in one place, pick up off the floor, you need them to clean not tidy. Ours comes in once a week for two hours (four bed house) and does vacuum, steam mop, wipes down the kitchen (the woman is a genius with the hob) then polishes and dusts the living room and dining room. If she has time she'll do anything else she spots - doggy mud spatters on the hall mirror! Those basics make all the difference to me it keeps the house 'sharp', and the knowledge I need to tidy for her to get it done keeps the rest under control. I have to admit that I prefer to do bath/toilet myself, it just feels too personal.
But the absolutely best thing will be the smell of polish when you come in on Tuesday - you just don't get that when you do it yourself.
