Dd is in year 4. This year teacher decided that the class pet will be given out only on holidays and half term, and it will be given to the child who is traveling somewhere exciting.
Dd is now desperate to go somewhere sunny as the little bunny would like a sunny place for the summer half term Angry.
When she first told me the rule i was a bit Hmm. But now am getting really annoyed at the idea that the teacher is even telling them thats your last chance who is going somewhere sunny to get the pet.
I feel i should talk to the teacher and let him know that i feel that is really unfair and stressful.

  • you MEAN, not need Hmm
monkeytoad35 · 09/05/2017 19:51

This thread is hilarious....what a daft teacher...in any case like previous posters have said...who the frig wants to the a rabbit on holiday? 😄😄

M2R2 · 09/05/2017 19:51

I am considering a fake holiday! To be cancelled once little bunny is home 🙈

A bloody stuffed toy? Stressful?

FFS.

TheAntiBoop · 09/05/2017 19:55

Best drip feed ever...

And the teacher said exciting - not sunny.

HarrietKettleWasHere · 09/05/2017 19:57

Yeah that doesn't strike me as being particularly stressful...Confused

HermioneJeanGranger · 09/05/2017 19:57

It's a teddy bear Hmm

ZilphasHatpin · 09/05/2017 20:00

It's still a stupid fucking rule! It should be based on whoever has improved the most that term/month whatever not based on who has parents with most disposable income.

TheAntiBoop · 09/05/2017 20:01

But he said exciting. That doesn't need to cost. It could be going to the woods and jumping in puddles with a picnic after

I don't think he's expecting expeditions up Everest or a week in Bali

ZilphasHatpin · 09/05/2017 20:02

Well then they should all get a go because I'll bet every single one of the DC will do something exciting (to them) over any given break.

TheAntiBoop · 09/05/2017 20:07

Well I agree it's a bit odd it's not given out at weekends so each child can have a go. Although year 4 seems a it old - I should imagine not all the kids care

I should imagine he will give it to a child for different reasons though.

M2R2 · 09/05/2017 20:07

No its definitely traveling related not exciting in the back garden.
So far it went to Spain and Italy then he banned Europe breaks and said that now it need to go somewhere else i think someone took it to morocco.
Its not just about who have higher income, i will be 38w pregnant in half term. She is crying saying she misses her grand parents and would like to go and visit them even if that mean going on her ownConfused

ZilphasHatpin · 09/05/2017 20:10

This can't be real. The teacher has specified that the teddy must travel on school breaks and has now specified "not europe". Nope, that can't be the way this has happened. What planet is this on OP if it won't out you? Grin

tissuesosoft · 09/05/2017 20:10

I think the rabbit should go on its holidays with you- nothing could beat a rabbit perching by your nether regions as you give birth. Unbeatable and educational!

M2R2 · 09/05/2017 20:13

Zilpha i am in England. I think a lot of children was going to EU on easter holiday, then he had to choose someone who is going somewhere else as bunny have been to Europe few times 🙄.
I was thinking about that bloody childbirth planet would beat everything else

steff13 · 09/05/2017 20:15

The teacher has specified that the teddy must travel on school breaks and has now specified "not europe".

Maybe he got into some trouble when he was in Europe and got kicked out.

Callaird · 09/05/2017 20:16

Tell them you are going to Bali, then fake Bali at home! I'd do it badly!!!

ilovesooty · 09/05/2017 20:17

Send it to Maui.

bigmack · 09/05/2017 20:18

Pretend you're going to Mexico and then take it to Chiquito's.

ErrolTheDragon · 09/05/2017 20:18

They still have a class toy in yr 4?ConfusedI thought that was just a reception class thing.
But yeah, if they have one then it should go home with anyone who wants the bother of writing/photoing it.

Wolfiefan · 09/05/2017 20:18

Going on a steam train
Trying the zip wire
Safari
Picnic on top of a mountain (ok very high hill!)
Going on a Bear Hunt
It doesn't have to be a flight around the world. Surely the teacher is just trying to get some enthusiasm from the class.
I think I would claim to only ever be at home or the supermarket. I don't want the chuffing class pet! Grin

ivykaty44 · 09/05/2017 20:20

Lie and say you're going to sunny Maldives 😉

M2R2 · 09/05/2017 20:23

Ivy am so tempted.

OP posts:
Starlight2345 · 09/05/2017 20:23

Tell them you are off to Iceland..Then send pic of teddy in a freezer /

useyourimagination · 09/05/2017 20:24

I think teacher is hoping it will get left behind somewhere it will be impossible to retrieve it from...
