Posting for traffic as im so worried.

Moved in about a month ago and ever since a cat has welcomed itself into my home. Last couple days I thought she may be pregnant as her stomach has grown. I'd say she was roughly 8 months.

If knocked on a few doors and people keep telling me a certain door. But they NEVER answer the door.
This morning she done her business outside which she never usually does in our garden ! And after her stool there was a bloody mucus.

Do u think this could be from the anus or the vagina area?

I no it's horrible and tmi but shes so small and sweet and im really worried about her esp if shes pregnant

It sounds like she is adopting you as feels you are safe and a good place to have her kitties. Cat's adopt other households and move in there quite a bit... have you fed her or let her in?

You will get different opinions here but personally I would do my best to look after her but drop a note through the door of the never opening house and explain the situation and give your number. Then you've done all you can. If you get no response then get her to the vet for a check over to be sure she's okay and if she is pregnant (and roughly how far). Sounds like she's still a kitten herself so could do with some tlc.

I have fed her and let her in also because shes out there 24/7 And was so hungry. My kids love her shes made herself a bed in my wardrobe. Which is fine. But I just wish someone would either say yes or no so I can care for her properly

Poor baby :(

Can you borrow a carrier from a friend and take her to a vet? They'll be able to check to see if she has a microchip with her owners details and also confirm if she's pregnant and how far along.
If the cat has been abandoned you shouldn't have to pay but probably best to check that before you go so you don't end up with a massive bill for someone else's cat.

Although it sounds like the previous owners/tenants in your house abandoned her, its very common sadly.

If you and DC like her you should keep her though cats are the best :)

Maybe put a note through with :If i haven't heard for you by x date I will assume you no longer want dcat and will register her as mine at the vet as she needs medical attention. . Regards x
They are neglecting her if she hasn't been seen by a vet and is always hungry and locked out.

If put a note thru this morning. God I dislike people

It sounds like she's nesting in your wardrobe, the mucus could be a show that happens before labour

If you can, please take her to vet just for reassurance, she obviously trusts you

It's really important with kittens not to leave them feral as they will be untameable after a certain point

We adopted 2 feral kittens at 6 weeks, one was very scared but she's turned into the most adorable loyal cat you could hope for and is spoilt rotten

Booshbeesh · 09/05/2017 10:17

She doesn't look far enough along to be nesting and getting ready for labour. Her stomach is just a little over bloated and her nipples are pinkish. And good old Dr google told me this is a sign of pregnancy

Give a vet a ring. Don't move her if she's had bloody mucus and nesting.

Pinkheart5917 · 09/05/2017 10:27

People are cruel, how can they get a pet and treat it like that how can they not care where it is. Some people really shouldn't be allowed to have pets.

Could you take her to the vets for a check over anyway?

Put a note in the useless owners door, just say if don't hear from you I will assume you no longer want your cat

Sounds like she's adopted caring you

PeaFaceMcgee · 09/05/2017 10:28

After any pregnancy you should get her spayed.

GingerHanna · 09/05/2017 10:30

By the way... pictures needed! Gotta have some kitty pics :)

Well done for taking care of her and being so kind. Definitely vet stop next...

DontPullThatTubeOut · 09/05/2017 12:14

Cats aren't pregnant as long as we are and it all happens very quickly. Get her checked at the vet explain you think she has been abandoned and then if you like her and no one claims her I'd keep her as my own. Maybe get her spayed after.
