Just come across THIS, a story from someone called Gill Watson - it's so so sad.

Can't tell anyone how to vote of course, but hopefully we all will think what it really is we're voting for next month.

Yanbu , I will never understand how people can bring themselves to vote Tory. It is a vote that says, I hate the poor, the disabled , the vulnerable, our NHS and our police force.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 08/05/2017 23:20

You can't convince people though. Despite all these cruels measures and cuts to Health and Education everyone seems to love the Cuntserveatives. A lot of working class included, and They seem to have such a downer on Jeremy Corbyn who is fighting against these cuts. I just don't understand.
They'll still be in power on 9th June.
I promise you that.

SuperRainbows · 08/05/2017 23:24

Totally agree Andnowitsseven

SabineUndine · 08/05/2017 23:33

I've had the same sort of experience buying food for food banks. You can't put anything fresh in, so it's all tins and packets. It's fucking depressing - even if you buy nicer stuff, it's pretty grim.

HelenaDove · 08/05/2017 23:52

YY Spider And there will be as much crowing about it and gloating and goadiness on here on 9 June as there was two years ago.

HelenaDove · 08/05/2017 23:55

Sabine Ive often wondered about the long term health implications of having to use food banks and intermittent starving.
Already ppl are being admitted into A and E for malnutrition.

HelenaDove · 08/05/2017 23:58

You see ppl on the obesity threads moaning about how obesity is caused by processed food but i bet some of them are happy to vote in a way that leads to some people going to food banks so having no choice but to eat processed and no fresh.

StaringAndSquinting · 09/05/2017 00:15

Everyone should be aware of the struggles so many people are facing just making ends meet today. I just don't know what the solution is.

Beerwench · 09/05/2017 00:17

That's heartbreaking.
I don't want to vote, I want a party that actually cares. The day a party comes in and refuses to take all the perks, the large salaries, and increases, and put the actual country first is when I'll vote.
You see them all spouting about how they'll do this and that and how to raise tax and make cuts - not one suggests cutting the wage bill of MP's, or not having all the perks and ploughing that saving into the country.
Don't expect that any MP from any party is sat down tonight with a tin of own brand beans having washed in cold water with 20p soap!

DJBaggySmalls · 09/05/2017 00:21

YANBU.

user1491572121 · 09/05/2017 00:55

I live in a bubble now. As soon as I can I will set up donations.

sobeyondthehills · 09/05/2017 00:55

They will still get in, this is a vote about Brexit, nothing else. From what I can see very little people can see past that.

Nothing about the fact that this will, for five years give them free reign over the NHS, the police, the fire service, the army, the schools, benefits. I could go on and on about what this should be about, but I keep being shouted down.

And I say this as someone who has mainly right winged views. This Tory party is bad for the country

HappydaysArehere · 09/05/2017 01:08

For the first time ever I am going to vote Liberal. I can't vote for Corbyn and the Tories need reining in. This austerity has to be tempered with more common sense. Grammar schools while our existing schools are struggling.is ridiculous. NHS is on its knees. Social care is a major concern.

Topseyt · 09/05/2017 01:17

I will be voting LibDem. I just cannot vote for either of the other alternatives.

needmymouthsewnup · 09/05/2017 01:30

But Beerwench surely using your vote to vote for the least bad party is better than not voting at all? Labour isn't perfect by any stretch, but their values are, in my view, more caring than the Conservatives. By no using your vote on principle, you risk getting the party who is furthest away from your values, rather than the possibility of one who maybe doesn't share all of them, but that is at least the most aligned.

ExcuseMeButImHavingACrisis · 09/05/2017 01:33

I'm lib dem too. Won't support Conservatives and not wanting to hedge my bets on Corbers

e1y1 · 09/05/2017 02:58

To me, It's being stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Would never vote Tory, and if didn't want to vote Labour - it only really leaves LibDems. Problem is, I don't see they'd ever get in completely on their own - it's always an either Con or Lab Govt. So if my vote went to Lib, it isn't preventing Torys getting in.

OP Agree I feel the same.

No it isn't. That's boring and tired and lacking in any substance. It's saying, I want to live in a country where everyone has the opportunity to support themselves.

Not saying Tories are a good choice but what is the alternative?

Labour, Corbyn talks sense but doesn't come across as a country leader, Diane abbot not helping.

Lib dems, Tim fallon (is it?) doesn't get much air time so I don't know much of what he believes. But he just seems an angry ranty man without many policies.

UKIP, thankfully dead

Green Party, I'm not sure I've seen one interview with the leader and couldn't name them.

ThatsNotMyMummy · 09/05/2017 04:01

24 I want to live in a country where those that can't support themselves still have a standard of life, that those most vulnerable or who are having a shit time aren't looked down on but are helped.
if your working you should be able to provide a decent life for your kids, not he scraping by despite working long hard hours on minimum wage.

I want a country where if you mess up your education at 16 / aren't academic. End an abusive relationship, your partner leaves you and the kids. God forbid you get ill You still stand half a chance of getting on in life. Not one blip and your screwed.

I feel quite proud we look out for each other in this country, but it's getting harder to find.

PigletJohn · 09/05/2017 04:24

As Theresa said, people use food banks for lots of reasons.

Not being able to afford to eat is only one of them.

Others include, errr, ummmm....

Graphista · 09/05/2017 04:55

I honestly believe a huge part of getting the cons out is in getting people to vote. The last GE 76% of the electorate DIDN'T vote conservative. That figure includes people who didn't vote, spoiled ballot papers as well as voted for other parties.

When you add in the election fraud there's no way they should have got in! It was an illegal govt.

Graphista · 09/05/2017 04:59

And yes the 'I'm alright jack' shit really pisses me off - aside from all the other good reasons NOT to be like this, there but for the grace of...

Accident, illness, redundancy, bereavement can happen to ANYBODY and under the cons leaves you in a real mess, not being able to rely on getting the support you desperately need.

That we have in this RICH country people DYING, KIDS going HUNGRY, people admitted to hospital for MALNUTRITION. is a fucking disgrace!! Angry
