Driving Test

Have posted in another topic but very few replies and I am stressing about it so posting here for traffic 😬
I have my driving test tomorrow and was wondering if anybody has any tips for me? Other than staying calm and collected and not killing anybody 😬 it's my first test and I desperately want to pass. I'm not a nervous driver and would say I am capable of passing but I keep making silly mistakes such as forgetting my checks and am sometimes hesitant at busy junctions. I've been told by my instructor that all these things will go against me so I am stressing a little about that. Is there anything that helped you pass? Anything you wish you had done differently or that you didn't know? Any advice gratefully received! Smile

It's so so disappointing when you fail 😔 I failed 4 times! Good luck with the next one 🍀

The main advice I would give is don't expect to pass. Treat it as a practice and getting experience for what the test is like. It sounds backwards but my first test I was so nervous and put so much pressure on myself to pass and the nerves got the better of me and I messed up big time. Second time I had it in my head that padding wasn't the be all and end all and I could take my test again and I passed with four minors as I wasn't putting as much pressure on myself.

Also it's a bit luck of the drawer in terms of which examiner you get. If you're the nervy type it can make a big difference. My first examiner was very quiet, not reassuring, very matter of fact and very stern and this added to my anxiety more.

My second examiner was lovely. He put me at ease, made conversation and provided reassurance. Made the world of difference!

Good luck! You'll be fine!

I was the same- I only passed on my third attempt. I would say treat it like a lesson in that try your hardest and learn from whatever happens. I was shaking at every attempt- just breathe and know that if you fail you can try again- no matter how inconvenient or expensive that ends up being. Good luck!!
