Watching Masterchef tonight and maybe it's just me but does anyone else thing it is disgustingly dirty to place the small sauce/gravy jug on the plate with the food when it's been standing on the work surface in the kitchen?

It makes me gag at the the thought of it. Nobody, even the critics, seem to mind at all.

LassWiTheDelicateAir, Little M a cat, not a maggot. Grin
However , it reminds me of when I was at school and found found a maggot in my brussel sprout. The nun on lunch duty tried to force me to eat it, around the maggot! Envy

These things aren't valid worries to me

That sums it up so neatly.

I grew up drinking unpasteurised milk from our own cows; eating butter and cheese made from their unpasteurised milk; eating eggs from our own free range ducks and hens and eating ducks and hens which my grandmother and mother killed, plucked and cleaned, in a house which until the mid 70s didn't even have a fridge as we stored dairy and meat products in the purpose built cold room and with numerous cats and dogs. This "eew, there might be a germ" is ridiculous.

When I had a job as waiting staff, I flicked freshly picked bogies onto a party of diner's food once, because they were so rude to me. Blokes in the party trying to grope me etc. Then their partners started to be horrid, (obviously I was to blame for the horrible gropey hands. Confused.)

So they got my nose goblins... Grin
