To ask if people flogging forever living make money?

Seen a few people on my Facebook - mainly those described as 'full time mummys', selling forever living on Facebook. They seem to share the same 10/20 stories of how 'Chantel left her high paid job and now the beach is her office' Hmm. Just wondered if, firstly has anyone on here sold it, and secondly does the average joe actually make money?

Same goes for juice plus, someone else I know had started selling it, and so far doesn't seem to have any interest/likes etc on her posts. Again curious is it actually capable of bringing in a real wage?

I have a woman on my Facebook from work who sells Moa. From her Fb she seems to be in a permanent state of excitement!

I'm dying to ask how much she actually earns!

PoppinsMoppins · 05/05/2017 22:19

I have a friend who does this too. She is constantly posting about how wonderful her life is, but o just can't see how you could make that much money out of it.

IonaNE · 05/05/2017 22:20

They are MLMs. There have been a few threads about this. Most people who get into it now don't make money. The thing with MLM schemes is that you will only make big bucks if you get in very early - but very early there is no way of telling if it is one that will take off, or one of the many that die a swift death.

Pollydonia · 05/05/2017 22:20

They don't, they are told to post that shite on Facebook ect. It's pyramid selling.

MyHairNeedsASnip · 05/05/2017 22:24

I have a Younique friend and she seems to order a hell of a lot of makeup from herself for personal use.

Cockadoodle · 05/05/2017 22:24

No but seriously there must be a forever person on here who can say "actually yes I make a good living at this"

Forever living is past its best now, if you want to make money you need to get in at the top of the pyramid MLM

I've just joined www.facebook.com/timelessvie it's soooooo much fun and some months I even manage to flog something to a friend or relative

SnackSnackEatAndCrave · 05/05/2017 22:25

The job centre actually promote this bullshit as "self employment".
The woman I spoke to is top of a pyramid and lives the dream. Her little bottom feeders make next to nothing but "every little helps when you're a stay at home mummy!"

I said I'd rather lose my jsa than take advantage of my fb friends by flogging them aloe vera shite. It's a terrible thing to do.

backtowork2015 · 05/05/2017 22:26

Look up the mlm bot watch thread. They're all some kind of cult

NeverTwerkNaked · 05/05/2017 22:26

@cockadoodle...yes over in Utah a bunch of Mormons are raking in cash from desperate FL distributors

Notmyrealname85 · 05/05/2017 22:28

Nope. It's a pyramid scheme, I knew a woman when I was a kid and she tried flogging this and made nada, but when she did make vaguely anything it was the guy above her who profited. So you need to con some other poor person into selling...but without them being in your area

Nope. Move on.

LemonsAndLollies · 05/05/2017 22:28

I've just joined www.facebook.com/timelessvie it's soooooo much fun

Mmmm... parslaii!! So delish hun! xx Grin

SnackSnackEatAndCrave · 05/05/2017 22:30

PS I have been actually looking for real work and fingers crossed start my new job in 2 weeks... So they didn't throw me at the "self employment" desk out of desperation at my laziness. Which is what I thought the FL woman was there for Hmm

childmaintenanceserviceinquiry · 05/05/2017 22:31

Interesting about the job centre, I was selling usborne few years ago and tried to post an ad on the job centre job board,. I wasn't allowed to because I couldn't guarantee minimum wage. I explained repeatedly that it was self employment and that I had no control over what hours someone worked and how competent they were, I gave up. So funny now that it is allowed,

tissuesosoft · 05/05/2017 22:31

The Forever Living reps probably get money through fraud! My DP had £1500 taken from his bank account last summer, lots of orders for Forever Living to different addresses. We had never heard of them before then!

RestingBitch · 05/05/2017 22:34

I had no intention of selling the stuff, I just wondered if it's actually possible to carve a living. I guess for some people an extra £100 goes along way.

Agree with what everyone has said, it's similar to Avon, if you got involved when the company started your probably burning £50's, if your 37383928473th person on the pyramid, then probably not.

I have an overseas friend on FB who has done a few different MLM now - not that I am her customer obviously, but she did the nail wraps before it came over here and is now doing one with oils (don't want to name it) so look out for that one. Other overseas friends do jewellery that is not available here yet

Just from my FB feed, I have friends that currently do 3 different types of makeup (4 if you count Avon), 2 that have done utilities, the jewellery (2 different companies) and oils mentioned above - not even including the two I've mentioned above! Whatever you want to sell, there is probably a MLM for it!

SnackSnackEatAndCrave · 05/05/2017 22:38

@childmaintenanceserviceinquiry I was gobsmacked! I mentioned to my advisor on only my second week that I'm finding it hard to work childcare around part time hours and she said "ooh you should see the lady doing self employment opportunities, she helps a lot of mums"... Fast forward 20 minutes of waffle with self employment lady and it turns out to be forever living! If I know it's a bloody scam, why don't the job centre?!

ambereyesore · 05/05/2017 22:38

Tropic skin care seems to be the new Forever.

What a pile of shit.

CotswoldStrife · 05/05/2017 22:40

I forgot about the books, I have one of them on FB too Grin

Are they really allowed to push MLM in job centres?

TheSnorkMaidenReturns · 05/05/2017 22:57

@Dixiebell

This is awesome, thank you.

Littlestgirlguide25 · 05/05/2017 22:59

Cotswold, no, they're not, and any advisor worth their pay would advise against.

TheMysteriousJackelope · 05/05/2017 23:00

I came across someone who was making an extremely good living from Pampered Chef. However:-
She was the first in the area to get into it.
The area was expanding rapidly with many middle class families with enough money to buy expensive cooking utensils.
Pampered Chef, although expensive, have excellent products.
The point of Pampered Chef is to save time when cooking, many of the families had two working parents so saving time was a priority.
Cooking was becoming trendy so everyone wanted to do it.
Everyone needs cooking utensils, saucepans etc. at some point and they make great engagement and wedding gifts. On the other hand most people can go their whole lives without using anything from Forever Living or Juice Plus.

I think she was making about $70,000 a year, but she had recruited a lot of downline sellers so got a nice commission from them. She was very personable and her selling parties were always fun and informative as she would demonstrate new recipes using the Pampered Chef products and recipe books and guests got to eat the results.

NeverTwerkNaked · 05/05/2017 23:10

@RestingBitch for every, say, £100, they "make" they will have spent at least double that on training courses, books, marketing, insurance (if they have any sense), "sample products" and products for themselves (they have to "live the product)

Www.facebook.com/timelessvie (and others) have uncovered countless examples of how even the puportedly "super successful" people at the top are just faking their success - rented mansions, cars on hire purchase and /or wealthy family member funding their existence.
