To think putting your bare feet up on the seat in public transport is gross?

I'm on the train home, sat in an empty quadrant of four seats with no table.

A middle-aged lady boarded the train, sat down on the seat diagonal from me, and then proceeded to take both her shoes off and put her bare feet on the seat next to me.

I must have made a face or something, because she looked at me and said "it's alright, they're clean."

I immediately got up and found another seat!

AIBU to have found what she did quite unpleasant and rude?

YANBU

Yuk! I don't want some stranger's bare feet next to me no matter how clean they are.

Shoxfordian · 05/05/2017 17:52

Yanbu it's amazing how many people mistake public transport for their own living rooms.

BollardDodger · 05/05/2017 17:56

But its better than the passengers who put their feet on the seats with their shoes on.

glitterglitters · 05/05/2017 18:00

In Thailand it's really really offensive and as someone with an indescribable hatred of feet, yes that's horrendous 🤢

comedycentral · 05/05/2017 18:01

That's grim. Some people have no manners.

ForalltheSaints · 05/05/2017 18:01

YANBU. People like her are an obstacle to greater use of public transport.

originalbiglymavis · 05/05/2017 18:02

Manky, stinky feet! Yuk. I also hate people with their dirty shoes on the seat. But they aren't dirty art they? Oh no, these people hover above the pavements and dig poo. They are too good to have dirt on their shoes. Especially when little Jimmy wants to stand on the seat. Because little children are particularly careful about what they trample in.

Manky buggers.

A bloke did that on the tube this morning- really full carriage.

I opened my stupid gob to say something when I realised that everyone was studiously avoiding looking at him.

He was skinning up Shock

Second time I've seen drug use/prep on the tube

glitterglitters · 05/05/2017 18:10

@MovingtoParadise if you ever get on a train to Wembley when a small club is playing a big football match you'll find a lot of people snorting coke in plain sight 😱

MovingtoParadise · 05/05/2017 18:13

Farking 'ell Shock

glitterglitters · 05/05/2017 18:17

I don't think it's necessarily just smaller football club supporter but they tend to be SO VERY EXCITED at "going to Wembley!!" That they forget themselves.

Tbh I've seen some horrendous things in public transport in my time. 😱🤢🤢

crazycatgal · 05/05/2017 18:32

Why do people think things like this are acceptable? HmmI don't blame you for moving.

Joey7t8 · 05/05/2017 18:41

Don't blame you for moving. The last thing you want is some middle women's minging feet under your nose at the end of the day. Very inconsiderate of her.

BinarySearchTree · 05/05/2017 19:02

I only mentioned what I guessed her age to be because I think she should know better.
