Kids pop album, weird choice of song

Seen an advert for kids singing their own versions of pop songs. Harmless enough, kind of present you'd buy someone's kid to irritate their parents. Can't stop the feeling quite a catchy song.

Can't help but think shout out to my ex is a weird choice however!

I have just bought my DD a cd player for her 6th bday in July and bought this album along with it. Agree it is a strange choice but a lot of kids are into little mix and probably wouldnt give it much thought, my DD included.

BTW I work full time and have a nanny who will probably agree I bought it to drive her mad!

It just sounded weird on the ad hearing kids sing that! I know girls love little mix so can see why it's been chosen, but I noticed that one if that makes sense. Didn't pay much attention to the others.

I agree that there are a lot more songs that would probably work better on an album aimed at children.

Please tell me they have taken out the line about giving the new gf better sex!!

I knew what the song was going to be before I opened this and I agree. Then again, so many songs on the radio are inappropriate these days. I think it was always this way.

I was thinking the offending song would be Shout out to my Ex Grin I agree, a bit silly content-wise for a song aimed at a young audience. Not a lot of 8 year old girls would have exes surely?

On a personal note my 4 year old DD likes the song. But that could be because she thinks it's about her brother. She sings it 'Shout out to my Alex.'

My ds has it and loves it.
When I look back at some of the songs I used to sing along to for example
Live a virgin
Sam fox touch me
And I'm sure there's a hell of a lot more but it's only as I'm older I know what the words to the songs mean iyswim, I was quite happily singing along to a catchy tune

I know it's never really been any different! Proper adult moment lol.

Bump and grind by R Kelly was in the charts when I was a teen - my bahdeeeee keeps telling me yeaahhhh!

YANBU. I hate a lot of lyrics in songs. Always so bloody sexualised. I know there were some around when we were younger but these days it seems to be the majority of bands that are aimed at a younger audience. I hate that line in this song, just unnecessary tbh. Yes we get it. Perrie is saying Zayne was crap in bed. Hmm
