Walking in the rain this evening and before I knew what happened, slipped on wet pavement and gave my head a big wallop along with my thigh!

Three lovely people rushed over to help me and make sure I was ok, thankfully the bump wasn't too bad, but I want to say a big thank you now that the shock and embarrassment has passed.

Goes to show London definitely doesn't deserve its reputation for being unfriendly.

Not looking forward to seeing the bruises tomorrow though!

Oh poor you! I hate that...I hate falling and I hate seeing others fall. I find it very upsetting for some reason.

Are you ok now?

PamplemousseRouge · 04/05/2017 10:19

Oh my gosh Slugorama! That sounds horrific - I'm so sorry! Flowers How are you feeling now? Really glad that you were helped - I'm so sorry about your fall though!

I wonder if it's worth contacting the council to ask them to check out the place where you fell in case they need to put in safer paving or something?

PamplemousseRouge · 04/05/2017 10:21

Are you planning on going to the doctor just to get your head checked out? How is your head today? Flowers

Scribblegirl · 04/05/2017 10:22

Oh slug! Hope you're feeling better today. Flowers

I stacked it on the spiral staircase between the Northern Line and Central Line at Bank station last week. I moaned that evening about how everyone fussed me and helped me get up, picked up my things for me, checked I was ok - but actually I think it's a pretty nice sign that the world isn't quite as fucked as we Londoners like to say it is Smile

GinAndOnIt · 04/05/2017 10:26

Sorry to hear about your fall, OP. I'm so glad people helped.

I lived in London a few years ago, and had a fall while pushing a buggy on a busy street (it was raining heavily and puddles everywhere, I crossed the road with the buggy but didn't see a pothole under a puddle, so front wheels dipped in, buggy tipped forward and I tipped over the top Blush) and no one came to help. One man came over about 5 minutes down the road and said 'did you have a nice trip?' and laughed and wandered off, so I couldn't even reassure myself that nobody helped because they didn't see it!

It's good to hear when people are helpful.

Thank you all for the flowers.

PamplemousseRouge Feeling a little tender today but no lasting damage. The lump on the head has gone and no dodgy side effects, but expecting a huge bruise on the thigh!
I do think it was just slippery due to rain and slippy soles on my boots (flat ones).

scribblegirl argh, Bank is such a busy station, but its lovely so many people stopped.

GinAndOnIt cannot believe no one stopped and helped, and as to the guy who laughed, what a tosser! Angry
