To go to the cinema alone, on a weekday afternoon?

Just so that I can have a cry?!

Never really cry but feeling all emotional this afternoon. All friends are in work and I have the afternoon off as I worked bank holiday.

If I go home then I'll just feel crap and won't actually cry, I'll just faff around. Plus no tv so watching it on the iPad.

Decinately go. I wouldn't worry about going by yourself at all.

Plunkette · 03/05/2017 14:03

Why would going to the cinema ever be unreasonable?

I go to the cinema alone regularly. it's no big deal. No one ever bats an eye.

Singyourheartout · 03/05/2017 14:03

Their finist! It uplifting but will make you cry 😭 Loads!!!!

KC225 · 03/05/2017 14:03

Bloody love going to cinema on a weekday on my own. You come out and everyone is on their way home from work and it feels like you have been very naughty and decadent

CaulkheadNorth · 03/05/2017 14:05

I have no issue going alone, and do it sometimes. It's mainly the mainly going to have a good cry, and that it'll be pretty empty I imagine.

I can't remember the name of the film but it's got an actor in who is quite well known, set in the U.K. Want to see the finest but it's not on during the day here.

I completely agree, it always has the feel of playing truant about it, even if you are there legitimately. Particularly if you come out in daylight.

harderandharder2breathe · 03/05/2017 14:13

I've never understood why people think it's weird to go to the cinema alone. You're sat in a dark room not talking for a couple of hours! It's hardly the most sociable thing in the world.

CaulkheadNorth · 03/05/2017 14:14

I'm seeing The sense of ending. Looks like mine is the only seat sold so far, do if you're in the midlands come and also sit alone in the cinema.

It's usually the only time I can go, just have to be back home for school run at 3. So if there's a film on at a time that works yes I happily go on my own. Really want to see Their Finest but times are too late, grrr.

I was the only one in for an early showing of Suffragette last year - lovely woman on the till out front bought me in a coffee Grin

Never cried in there though! Hope you're ok OP.

Pinkheart5917 · 03/05/2017 14:36

Go alone! I would and have in the past when I've wanted to see a film nobody else wanted to see, I got a coffee and malteasrs in the cinema and I was fine alone you can't talk to anyone during the film anyway so what diffrence does it make if your alone

CheeseQueen · 03/05/2017 14:36

Why on earth would going to the cinema by yourself ever be considered unreasonable?!
DO IT already! I love going to the cinema by myself. In fact I prefer to go by myself instead of with people

sonlypuppyfat · 03/05/2017 14:36

Cinema on my own is one of my favourite things. I went last week with DD and my friend and didn't talk to either of them. What difference does it make going on your own

CaulkheadNorth · 03/05/2017 14:39

I really don't mind seeing something I want to see alone. It just feels different because I'm basically seeing something that looks fine just to have a space to have a big cry.

I've got a malteasers rabbit and a coffee, and so far were part way through the trailers and no one else is here yet.

MitzyLeFrouf · 03/05/2017 14:41

Go OP and enjoy your cry.

It will do you good.

MitzyLeFrouf · 03/05/2017 14:42

Oh you've got an empty cinema! That's the holy grail of afternoon cinema visits. Well done!

CaulkheadNorth · 03/05/2017 14:43

Im feeling that I've won at life right now.

This film better be a bit bloody sad though.
