Big birthday party coming up and we wanted to give the DJ a list of 90's favourites to play. So.... AIBU to ask you for some 90's tunes rather than just googling (or handing him my iPod!!) please?

I'm going to have a little quite trashy and lite pre-90's moment.

Life in a Northern Town - Dream Academy
April Skies - Jesus and Mary Chain
Birthday - Sugarcubes (Bjork for you youngsters)
I don't want to Talk About It - Everything but the Girl
Don't Go - Hothouse Flowers
Eloise - The Dammed
Doreen - Half Man Half Biscuit
Tallulah Gosh - Tallulah Gosh
Friday I'm in Love -The Cure
Mobile Shack - Felt
Christine - House of Love
We Care A Lot - Faith No More
This Monkeys Gone to Heaven - Pixies. Anything by the pixies really.
Pogues - Sick Bed of Cuchulainn
I don't Care - Transvision Vamp

Wishing the Days Away - Billy Bragg
Back to Life - Soul 2 Soul
Happy Hour - Housemartins
Wake Up - Boo Radleys
Ca Plan Pour Moi - Plastic Bertrand (Actually don't know when that was released but we all need some Belgium punk)
I Say Nothing - Voice of the beehive
This Corrosion - Sisters of Mercy (there's always time for some epic goth pop, this always makes me laugh)
Forever Young - Aphaville. I blame a school friend who was in luuurve with them but I can never shake this song. If Trump carries on it will need to be re-released.
Johnny Come Lately - Steve Earl and the Pogues get together
Can't be Sure - The Sundays

One to stick on the end
Song to the Siren - This Mortal Coils version.

RoseGoldProsecco · 05/05/2017 18:56

OP posts:
Huldra · 05/05/2017 19:20

Yes, that's the one.

i didn't realise that it was originally a Jeff Buckley song until recently. Reading up and it seems Buckley and Liz had a bit of a thing.

Such memories! The 90s were great for many genres of music!

At the time I was into all the 90s RNB, and dance music, but now I love listening to all the britpop and indie classics.

And there seemed to be a lot of good female artists around then.

Fyi there is a DAB radio channel Absolute 90s!
