Just that really. I keep being added to a local selling group and my timeline is full of people selling crap used goods for not much less than you can find them on Amazon/the high street and definitely for more than you'd pay at a car boot sale/ NCT sale/charity shop...

Today's gem is someone looking for a new purse and a reply offering to sell a purse with tags bought for £16.99 in TK Maxx for £14. Original poster has asked if she can collect... Unless you wanted that particular purse, or another specific item, wouldn't you just go to a shop and buy a new purse?!

My mil and bil both buy loads of people on those selling sites. It's the perception that you're getting some sort of bargain, I think it's a bit addictive for some.

I buy / sell some bits. Mostly stuff that's not easy to get in the shops, like baby carriers, certain brands of clothing. Also second hand stuff (toys, equipment) that is expensive new and buying second hand saves it going to landfill.

I agree some of the prices people try and sell their stuff at is ridiculous but you can get some bargain stuff.

I use the selling pages all the time. Can't see the problem?

I've shifted all my toddler/baby stuff, and bought loads of lovely new stuff.

I do keep removing myself from the group so I've not seen any bargains yet just lots of people posting photos and then commenting 'bump' underneath them every day!

No-one ever suggests that the stuff isn't selling because it's overpriced I'm not brave enough

Even if it was new with tags I'd want it for half shop price, unless it's discontinued a special item or something then I might pay more than original shop price.

I've bought and sold. If I buy it's generally an expensive brand I wouldn't usually spend out on or an item I wouldn't get much use from so don't want to spend full price. E.g. I have had a couple of lovely party dresses in great condition for couple of £. I wouldn't tend to buy day to day clothes as I would generally just go to next or similar. I have also bought quite a few toys e.g. When they were younger the peppa pig toys you could get good value bundles. Also playmobil. I've sold loads - however now I'm a bit fed up of the no shows and hassle so just give it away! I have found that clothes don't sell anywhere as well as they used to - what you need is a regular buyer who obviously has same likes / 1 size smaller child!
