To consider making DH a dishwasher chart?

DH is a wonderful husband and father, and by all accounts an intelligent grown man with two masters degrees and a sensible job.

BUT oh my goodness he is just incapable of remembering how to correctly load the dishwasher! It's carnage. I'm talking long knives with the cutlery, big plates where the short should be, cups mixed with bowls, the lot.

I've explained so often where things should go and have joked I will make him a chart.

WIBU to make him one?!

I think I might do dh a washing line chart.

In his mind if it is pegged on the line that's fine.

I am convinced he just throws the basket of washing at the rotary. Sticks a few pegs on top and job done. As such when you bring it in, it's crumpled and half damp and has peg marks.

Omg you are all unreasonable micro managers!

Argh....that photo.....DH thinks the dishwasher fairy unloads the dishwasher very day but having seen that photo I'm counting my blessings. It could be a lot worse. Why on earth would you even dream of loading it like that....and I'm pretty relaxed re mixing up cutlery but crikey....cups with the bowls....nooooo

I definitely know couples where this is the other way round and it's the woman who can't stack for toffee but in our house it's my husband. He's shite at any stacking activity. The kitchen cupboards are the same, he piles things in any old place. His dishwasher skills are completely random and mostly non existant. As in, I've seen him puzzling over why the drawer won't shut when he's put our biggest pan in the top.

His mother says he was the same at kindergarten.

Not really - mainly let it slide!

But DH wonders hownianage to get more in preload than he does

Oly5 · 30/04/2017 15:12

There's a right way to load a dishwasher??

foundaspottysock · 30/04/2017 15:18

Yes there is Oly5 - my way Grin

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 30/04/2017 16:08

My DH doesn't have this problem, he's a whizz at the dishwasher (and fridge, packing, anything Tetris like Grin).

supermoon100 · 30/04/2017 16:46

My dh doesn't like the way I load the dishwasher. I'm like ' you are welcome to re-arrange things'. I do not get the dish washer power struggle.

BitchyHen · 30/04/2017 17:24

Is this any help? Grin
