AIBU to be concerned about cosmetic dental treatment?

I'm going through Invisalign to correct crooked and gappy teeth. Coming up the end of the treatment (8 left - finishing in July) and have been told that I will need further scans and more aligners.

A miscalculation was made on my top teeth - I have white filling in my gap put there by a dentist 30 years ago. They have miscalculated how much filling there is - they found this out this week when they drilled it all out and told me my remaining aligners will not fill the gap. I would have finished treatment by July if it was correct.

AIBU to be peed off with this? I now have a gap that could you could park a bike and no closer to getting what I asked for at the start of treatment. I asked for a consultation a month ago saying I needed more taking off and they took a little off. My orthodontist was not around and another filed a bit off saying there is a lot isn't there - so he spotted it.

I also felt my orthodontist didn't answer any concerns this week- I asked him how much longer it would take and he said we would see in July. I just get more annoyed the more I think about it and am concerned it will cost me extra after already signing up for £4,000.

YANBU.

Grit your (gappy) teeth and see what they come up with in July. But I would not be happy either. Fingers crossed they have a plan.

I'm about a quarter of the way through my Invisalign treatment. My orthodontist told me there may be refinements and the consent form also mentioned a possible longer treatment time due to this. Any refinements were included in the price I paid so there wouldn't be any extra cost. I'd check with your consent form, what your the price you paid included (give them a call) and insist on them taking scans and mounds again in July. Good luck and I hope it all goes well.
