To wonder what the little red signs in Arabic in my neighbourhood are all about

In my neighbourhood I have noticed quite a few houses (half the street in one street) have a wee red sign in Arabic stuck on their windows and front doors). I've just moved to the area and never seen this anywhere else. Does anyone have any idea what these signs mean?

They could be prayer stickers to bless and protect the house. I think I need some given the high percentage of weirdos living in my area!

It's probably a dua - a personal prayer to Allah which the people say when going in/leaving the house.
