So I actually found out about this channel via another large forum I post on. Essentially, a YouTube channel which is called DaddyOFive (it's reasonably large, around three quarters of a million subscribers) centres around a blog made by the father, with 5 children. The upshot of it is, people were angry about how the family, lead by the father; bully one of their children Cody, and pass it off as just 'good old fashioned parenting!'

At first until I checked out the videos I honestly thought it couldn't be that bad. I was horribly wrong. Some of the videos are entitled:
Dad burns Cody's Pokemon cards
Dad destroys son's DS
Dad forces son to throw away his toys
I'm sending Cody to military school

In their most recent video, because Cody had been bad (smeared poop on the walls; a recognised sign of abuse and distress), they took all the other kids to DisneyLand.

These videos are horrific, and despite them being located in the US, I really feel like CPS should be investigating and YouTube should shut the channel down for child abuse.

If you can bear to watch the videos, the guy's name is DaddyOFive, and I'd urge you to take a few minutes and report their videos for child abuse. I really don't understand how in this day and age, this kind of thing isn't investigated more quickly. The child is sobbing, and regularly in horrendous distress at the bullying at the hands of his parents and siblings, so these videos could trigger people; that's why I haven't directly linked them and why I've placed a warning on the top of my post.

jessKM I think yuk was talking about the sacconejoly channel, she did comment and say she thought this particular channel was absolutely vile xx

Although I think your point about the 10 minutes they broadcast is a good one; how long do they spend making these videos? Probably a few hours, all told to get the shots they need if they're uploading 1-2 times a week.

Queen that is horrible Shock

I hate sounding like a drama llama but this makes me despair. I mean I know and have always known there are some sick fucks out there. I just can't get my head round parents who are openly abusing their children, clearly getting pleasure out of upsetting them, posting videos on mainstream sites and they actually make money out of it because other sick fucks enjoy it I just think what does this say about society??

Ffs how can these people look at their distraught child and fucking laugh? They are actually enjoying this Sad. This isn't a parent doing something in anger, its not the "poor parenting" that is discussed often on MN, this is deliberate, planned, and being done publicly with apparently no fear of consequences.

Yukbuck · 18/04/2017 22:26

Thanks milk for clarifying that! Yes jess I was talking about the sacconejoly's (as per my post)
I have dealt a lot with child protection and would never condone abuse. Hence me reporting the channel too!

SuperBeagle · 18/04/2017 22:27

Holy fuck, those poor kids.

Cody. Sad

JessKM · 18/04/2017 22:27

apologies I thought you were condoning it as only ten minutes

icedgem85 · 18/04/2017 22:27

Stop watching them!! He gets paid when you watch them so then he'll continue to do it. Contact Youtube to report instead.

Yukbuck · 18/04/2017 22:27

savemebarry couldn't agree more with your post

SuperBeagle · 18/04/2017 22:30

please remember you only see 10-15 mins a day of these people. The sacconejoly were not investigated. And how do you know they didn't take Emilia to the doctors for the seizure? They don't share every moment of their life. I'd say they generally have their head screwed on.

You could make that argument for anyone. It's invalid. You'd assume they're showing the best or most interesting 10-15 minutes of their day, and if that includes the dog pissing on their baby's face while they stand back and laugh, then I dread to think what we're not seeing.

And yes, they were investigated. They even spoke about it in a video. It would've been well before their second child was born, I believe.

And they said they didn't take her to the doctor for the seizure. It was in a video 2-3 days after the seizure video. I'm not pulling shit out of my ass like you seem to think Hmm

Another angle to try is highlighting this to the advertisers. Most companies would not want to be remotely associated with this so whilst removing the money will not stop the abuse it may help to close down the channel and stop copycats trying to cash in.

JessKM · 18/04/2017 22:33

They actually let their dog piss on their baby - they filmed this?? They broadcast this??????

I'm at a loss for words. Stop the world I want to get off!

GeillisTheWitch · 18/04/2017 22:34

When Cody grows up and does a Columbine I, for one, won't be surprised

Let's just hope it's his waste of skin parents that are the victims and not innocent people. That kid is going to be one fucked up teenager/adult.

BoreOfWhabylon · 18/04/2017 22:34

One of the videos has the dad goading the child (not Cody, the next oldest one) to say a particular word - video is titled "xxx says the worst word ever!"

The boy doesn't want to say it but eventually spells it out "C. U. N. T.". Still the Dad keeps at him to say it "You can say it just this once" until he eventually does. Then Dad asks him if he knows what it means - mother bellows out that it's a "Dirty word for vagina"

I think they are genuinely too stupid to realise that what they think is funny and entertaining is in fact actually abusive.

Oh, and Cody and the slightly older boy in the invisible ink video were definitely distressed - bright red faces and white necks. Can't fake that.

shenanigans that's a good idea, I wonder how we could do that? As we don't know who's advertising with them specifically?

There is a link to a clip for a show in the comments above; you should click that to watch the clips so the YouTube channel doesn't get any advertising income from our clicks; thanks to the poster who put it up and also the poster at the beginning of the discussion who pointed out this potential problem, it wasn't something I had thought of.

Here's the Maryland CPS email address again:

super well I am familiar with the sacconejoly's and don't consider them abusive. I've not seen the dog peeing on her and if that happened then that's pretty gross and not on. But overall I think they are good parents even if I do question a lot of what they do. I think comparing them to child abusers is very insulting to all the many children out there who are genuinely being abused.

milkmilklemonade12 · 18/04/2017 22:36

Gellis I know, it's a sickening thought isn't it?

Thank you for all the signatures, reports, emails and shares.

I said they were neglectful. I'm not claiming that they beat their children or anything like that. The dog peeing on Emilia's head is in a video. She would've only been a month or two at the oldest.

The fact that some children are abused does not mean you can't call out parents who neglect their children. The two are not mutually exclusive. You can be neglectful and a subpar parent without laying a hand on your child.

Shenanagins · 18/04/2017 22:39

I haven't clicked on the links as even the stills posted upthread were too distressing so don't know who related advertisers are but if people do know this should be highlighted. Also, had You Tube been contacted to highlight this and it's distressing content. In this instance I believe twitter is your friend as that can get your message out to lots of people very quickly. Put pressure on them.

JessKM · 18/04/2017 22:42

Is this some kind of abuser top trumps - neglect is a form of abuse - it doesnt matter whose is worse!!! Theyre both wrong - lets not lose the focus of this thread by arguing over semantics Angry

Yukbuck · 18/04/2017 22:44

Sorry Jess. I'm not trying to make a top trumps out of it. I just genuinely don't believe the sacconejoly's are negligent or abusive or whatever word you want to call them. Daddofive is!!!

SuperBeagle · 18/04/2017 22:48

But you even admit you haven't seen the videos I've discussed...

That doesn't mean they didn't happen.

Darbs76 · 18/04/2017 22:50

One of the most astounding parts for me was when Cody was crying saying dad get out of here and take the camera and he said 'I can't, you know I have to vlog my whole life. Unbelievable.

Yukbuck · 18/04/2017 22:51

I have now watched them both. I couldn't see a dog peeing on Emilia.

WeDoNotSow · 18/04/2017 22:51

I don't know who they are, but I don't see how you can say someone isn't negligent if they're letting a dog piss over a baby, and put it on the internet?!? Wtf
