To make dh clean up his own sick?

DH came home from work today telling me he wasn't feeling well. He kept complaining about his stomach over dinner so he laid down on the couch and I put a dust bin in front of him. Well I was in bed about to doze off and I heard a retching sound, surprise surprise, DH couldn't make it to the bathroom across the hall or just the dust bin right in front of him!!! He vomited all over the couch, the floor, and himself. I came in there to help and he continued to throw up all over the couch instead of the dust bin! I'm tired and have work tomorrow and I'm pissed that he makes a huge, gross mess instead of using the toilet or the dust bin. AIBU to make him clean up his own mess?

Guess he doesn't have normal sickness, he has MAN SICKNESS and cannot possibly keep his jaw clamped shut for the necessary split second to stick his head over the bucket Hmm

Agreeing with the PP who says he must have a touch of the dramatic about him.

StarryIllusion · 18/04/2017 08:35

Look if my 3 year old can make the bucket and my dogs can manage to go outside so can a grown man. Makd him clean it and he buys a new sofa if it stains.

TalkingofMichaelAngel0 · 18/04/2017 08:37

My cat will throw up wllong round rhe house. It is relly annoying

fuzzywuzzy · 18/04/2017 08:42

I wouldn't clean up after anyone who committed everywhere despite there being a bucket to catch it in next to his head.

My dc have always managed to throw up in the buckets provided so I don't see why a grown man can't!

I actually can't imagine DP being so disrespectful actually, and accident is one thing vomiting over oneself and everywhere but the bucket twice is just disrespectful.

I'm of the leave him to clean it himself side.

Jurassictit · 18/04/2017 08:51

Once, I was really feeling unwell. I have sharted. While I cleaned myself, he cleaned the bed ! I'd done the same for him.

MrsTrentReznor · 18/04/2017 09:41

Like fuck would I be cleaning it up!
I've missed the loo/bucket once in memory. I cleaned up after myself. Because I'm an adult.
My DP has a habit of chucking up in the sink which clogs it. The loo is next to it.
I do not unblock the sink, he blocked it he unblocks it whether he's ill or not. Not my fucking job.

4sausages · 18/04/2017 10:09

OP, how is he this morning?

I'd be disgusted and really can't say whether I'd have cleaned up or not in your situation, but I would also be concerned about him.

My husband does this too, and the toilet is next to the sink as well. I go spare at him and he complains that he doesn't like throwing up in the toilet. Because everyone else positively enjoys the experience. Idiot Hmm

wizzywig · 18/04/2017 11:28

Id aim in a bucket/ toilet if i knew id be having to clean it up. He probably knows youll do it

springflowers11 · 18/04/2017 17:51

I guess he is vomming in his sleep?

Branleuse · 18/04/2017 17:58

if hes got a tummy bug, youre probably gonna come down with it too, so if you want him to be nice to you when you get it, youre probably best not being too shitty when hes ill.

Daydream007 · 18/04/2017 18:06

YANBU. You left a bin In front of him to be sick in. No excuse. My young children manage to vomit into a bucket.

Imbroglio · 18/04/2017 18:10

How is he today?

Aridane · 18/04/2017 18:32

YABU - he sounds really poorly

Aridane · 18/04/2017 18:33

(appreciate I am in a very small minority!)

plon1041m · 18/04/2017 21:18

I had him completely clean up the sofa in the morning which took about 3 hours. He's thrown up twice today but he didn't miss the bin either time Hmm Grin

Funny that, and does prove the point that he wasnt expecting to do any of the cleaning up himself doesnt it. I would be talking to him about his attitude when he is fully well again, because that sort of thing does not bode well for his overall attitude towards you.

Is he one that leaves his clothes on the floor instead of the laundry basket or his dirty cup on the coffee table instead of in the dishwasher? Sounds the sort......

plon1041m · 18/04/2017 22:06

PyongyangKipperbang
He's not usually a slob but he turns into a whiny baby when sick. Obviously no one likes being sick but it gets on my nerves really fast!
