I have a Samsung and love it! It sings a song when it finishes a load which makes me smile every time!!!

I'd rather get a basic model of a reliable brand than a cheaper one with lots of bells & whistles, so I'd go for an entry level Bosch or Siemens.

Bosch, always pick Bosch white goods and never been disappointed.

If you can stretch another £100 then I would say a Samsung ecobubble.

I've got a new Hotpoint washer/dryer. It replaced my 11 year old Indesit model. Impressed so far. I've had Bosch white goods before - never again. I found them poor quality and rubbish customer service.
