To be glad not to do family Bank Holiday outings anymore

We used to try. Everywhere busy, stressy, end up arguing. Now we just relax and don't even try! Today after Easter Sunday family meal at PILs, DH has taken the DCs to help him paint an old boat they are doing while I clean up and have a swim. I don't really miss the stress and pressure tbh. BIL has taken family to Legoland. Thought fills me with dread.

Same here.

I have some lovely memories of the places we took the kids, but equally I'm pleased they're teens and adult now.

Oh god no we never did. Quiet walk and family meal at home. Lego land Wink no no no

I see it as a good excuse to catch up with the gardening.

Mine are still young (ish) and we never do Bank Holiday outings. I hate pushing and shoving through crowds. Why bother anyway, kids are off for 2 weeks so plenty of other days to take them out. Been out for breakfast this morning, first time we've left the house since Thursday 😁
