Fuming with DP

So we're on our way to MIL to drop off DD (8.5 months) who's staying there for 2 nights.

Half way there in the car, DP says that his DS (10yo) was sick all night last night! Wtf? Didn't he think to mention this before we left? DD has already been ill once this week!

I think he deliberately didn't tell me at the house because I would of kept DD home and he doesn't want to miss out on the things we have planned. I'm so angry

Yanbu to be angry but I would see what was wrong with DS, if it's a bug or over eating/overtired etc.
If it's not a bug I would enjoy my things!

Kids don get sick. If its that much of any issue then go home again.

I think you're being a bit pfb. kids get bugs. With correct handling and hygiene there's every chance your DD will be fine.

I'd be livid, unless the events you are attending are life changing/saving or exceptionally important.

Yes, all kids get sick at times, but I wouldn't take my child to spend time with another child who'd been sick all night, just as I wouldn't expect anyone whose child had been sick all night to come and spend time with my child.

If his sister has d&v I'd make him turn around and go back home. At 8.5 months your dd will be putting everything in her mouth and susceptible to catching everything going.

This happened to us..we got to a relatives house to find them joyfully telling us how both toddlers had had D andV all week...I was livid.but as it was dh family nothing was said ofcourse

You should all go home.
Perhaps your mil doesn't want to let you down but she has told your oh that her DD is ill.
You shouldn't be adding extra visitors to the mix.

Maybe I am being PFB but I just think I should have been told beforehand not a by the way comment.

DSister hasn't been sick since about 4am and hasn't shown any other signs of illness. She's fine in herself just the random vomits.

A couple of hours ago you started another thread about not really wanting your DD to stay with MIL. if you don't feel able to leave her then don't..

You shouldn't be going to dump an 8.5 month old on a woman dealing with a puking kid. And I wouldn't be letting my baby be in contact with novovirus if I could help it. Small children especially can dehydrate very quickly. The house should be quarantined. It's fine other people calling you pfb. But why subject you child to this? What is your dp thinking???

Yes your poor MIL has enough on her plate, you can't ask her to look after your baby the her own daughter is ill.

I do think 'D&V' is given similar status to bubonic plague on MN. It isn't actually that likely that the baby will get it if hands are washed and no-one is kissing/bed sharing with her. I wouldn't be that worried tbh.

Wow I am not dumping my child on anyone! MIL desperately wants to have DD and is more than capable of looking after DD and her own DD.

DSister seems absolutely fine, just in her pyjamas! I think I did over react! MIL is very conscious of hygiene and I think DD will be fine!

BTW I haven't asked MIL to have DD, she asked! I hate the perception on MN that if a GP is having their GC overnight, then that poor GC has been 'dumped'!

Well if MN is overreacting and you think DD will be fine, why are you 'fuming' then?
