I suspect they will get Trump for something interesting, like tax evasion was for Al Capone.
It may well not be Russia or conflict of interest.

If we didn't have such a crazy arse voting system i would vote Labour, but as they don't have a snowballs chance in hell of getting an MP in my district I will vote Lib Dem who do have a very good chance. If i voted labour and the conservatives kept the seat by a small margin I would kick myself.

Of course 2 months is a long time in politics right now. We could be in the middle of a nuclear winter by June. Confused

BiglyBadgers · 18/04/2017 18:44

Just catching up on the guardian live updates and saw this. Could be interesting!

Prosecutors are set to announce in the days before the 8 June general election whether a string of Conservative MPs and officials will face charges in relation to allegations of breaching spending limits in the 2015 poll, the Press Association reports.

cozietoesie · 18/04/2017 18:44

I keep forgetting it's only April. Sad

BiglyBadgers · 18/04/2017 18:45

I should probably go find a UK election thread shouldn't I. It's just this one is so nice and full of sane people Wink

Well, I expect it's cheered our US posters up no end to know they are not alone in riding out a political shitstorm. It seems to be catching.

Really? Cheered? Wouldn't it be better for everyone if things elsewhere were more stable?
No Brexit and no Le Pen. The world would endure Trump better.
As it is, it's getting more and more worrying.

illegitimateMortificadospawn · 18/04/2017 19:09

Sorry, I worded it badly. Of course it would be better if things weren't utterly shit, but it is comforting to know there are people all over the globe who are united in wanting things to be better.

Lweji · 18/04/2017 19:12

We already were, don't worry. Smile
We definitely don't need more instability or shit leaders, as bad as the current ones may be.

illegitimateMortificadospawn · 18/04/2017 19:14

How I wish we had a credible opposition just now... Sad

cozietoesie · 18/04/2017 19:16

Just to fill you all in. Here's a relevant piece on Jones. You'll see Leonard Pozner's story in there.

Honestly, I think we all know that none of us is alone. US, UK, French, Turkish. We all know that what affects one of us will affect the others one way or another.

I don't mind hearing about the upcoming UK election on this thread one bit. The more we know about each other's political situation the better we know what to do about our own and how to do it.

OnTheDarkSideOfTheSpoon · 18/04/2017 19:37
