When did ....

When did your baby roll over, sit up, crawl etc?

My first DD was sitting at 5 months and walking at 10 months. Can't remember when she crawled from. Second DD is 5 months and can't sit up and has only rolled over a couple of times.

I know I shouldn't compare Sad

My DD sat at 7 months (you couldn't even prop her up before then, she was like a jelly), crawled at 10 months, walked at 15-16 months. The HV said she was late but within the normal range so no cause for concern.

She's 4 now and I have no idea whether she was earlier/later than her peers at nursery! There really is no need to worry.

Borntoflyinfirst · 11/04/2017 20:18

None of my children ever seemed to roll over as babies! They could all sit up at around 6 months. The oldest 2 bum shuffled way before they crawled and were 17 and 18 months when the walked (apparently quite usual with shufflers as their hands are free to carry things so no need to get up!). Third was a crawler. Can't remember when exactly But she did walk a little earlier but def after 12 months.

Try not to worry - they do things in their own time and usually when they want to!

UppityHumpty · 11/04/2017 20:43

Dd sat up at 4 months, rolling over at 6, walking by 8 months. She never really crawled

phoenixtherabbit · 11/04/2017 20:47

My ds sat at about 7 months, rolled prob about 5/6 months I think. He turns one in a couple of weeks, he still cant crawl properly he does sort of drag himself along the floor commando style. He can't walk, he wants to stand up all the time and can balance holding my hands or against the sofa but not on his own.

I'm starting to think he's a little behind but nursery / hv have never expressed any concern. Confused

Allthebestnamesareused · 11/04/2017 20:51

14 months is the average to start walking phoenix

My first did everything early, my second did everything bang on average but it didn't stop me worrying because I kept comparing to first.

Neither crawled really, both did the commando shuffle to walk!

RaeSkywalker · 11/04/2017 20:55

DS is 5 months and not sitting or rolling yet. I'm not worried- he's nearly there and is happy and healthy.

It must be hard not to compare, but I really wouldn't worry.

Laiste · 11/04/2017 21:00

DD4 didn't bother with sitting up or rolling. But she was walking by 11 months. So ... don't worry :)

gamerchick · 11/04/2017 21:03

No idea, can't remember.

They all walk, talk and everything else now so it doesn't matter Wink

Lovelilies · 11/04/2017 21:35

DD1 sat about 6m, crawled at 8m, walked at 12. Never really rolled.
DS sat at 6m, rolled about 5m? Can't remember when he crawled BlushWalked at 14m
DD2 rolled at 15weeks, sat at 5m crawled at 6m. Not walking yet (she's 9m now)

FeliciaJollygoodfellow · 11/04/2017 21:36

I remember my twins walked at 14 months and DS3 at 10, the little shit!

Can't remember anything else though.

HappenstanceMarmite · 11/04/2017 21:40

Why have you put this into AIBU?

Rainydayspending · 11/04/2017 21:48

Eldest rolled over very young as did youngest. Both also stood at about 6 months. Youngest crawled at 5 months, eldest about the same. Youngest walked at 9 months eldest at 14 months.
Middle one sat (when propped up. Sat by about 8 months) and watched her sister barely moving until walking at 15 months. Never crawled. The HV started to make noises about encouraging her to crawl, but nothing major on the concerns as she could roll, kick her feet and had good control of her hands etc. Lazy/ content seemed to be the conclusion.

WashBasketsAreUs · 11/04/2017 21:51

Number 1 dd- rolled quite early, sat up at 6 months, walking round the furniture at 6 1/2 months, walked at 7 months!
Number 2 and 3 (twins) twin 2 walked at one year one week, twin 1 not til 16 months. All kids are different.

PussCatTheGoldfish · 11/04/2017 22:01

1-
sat at 5.5 months,
crawled and stood at 7.5,
walked steadily at 9mths.

2 -
sat at 5 months
Crawled and stood at 6 mths exactly
Walked 10 months

That was an exhausting couple of years!

user1491749851 · 13/04/2017 11:05

Thanks everyone. It's hard because she is so noisy and I can see she wants to get going. We have to carry her around constantly which probably isn't helping Blush

I can't remember. Aren't I bloody terrible

Wells20 · 13/04/2017 11:08

Ds never crawled, just shuffled on his bum. he did not walk a single step until about 18-19 months.

He's quite active now.

Laiste · 13/04/2017 11:16

We used to put fascinating things down on the floor on a cloth with DD4 to try to get her to roll to them or sit up. She'd thrash about a bit but never did manage to get to them.

One day at about 10/11 months she just seemed to think ''bugger this'' and just dragged herself up onto her feet using a nearby chair and began shuffling round the room clinging to the sofas. And that was that Grin

DD1 and DD3 did similar. They were both small light weight babies. DD2 took ages. She was a biiiiiiiiig heavy baby though :) i think it makes a difference.
