to think NHS IVF rules are unfair?

So I have adenomyosis and endometriosis. It's looking increasingly likely I will need IVF. Why can't I get it on the NHS just because my partner has a child with someone else? It's me who needs the help. How much would it cost privately? Sad

but a prime example of women being screwed over by women. A woman has a kid. Why should NHS pay for himher to have more, just because she landed himself a new woman? There are other woMEN out there who have none.
So at the end of the day, its all only about women

Works both ways

I do think it's unfair.

I think it's unfair that our health service is chronically underfunded and unable to provide proper healthcare and services in so many locations, to so many people and for so many conditions.

It's not because of someone else's illnesses, or because someone else gets x, y and z. It's because it's underfunded, overstretched and used as a political football.

Many other developed countries spend more per head/a greater proportion of GDP on healthcare. That's the direction we need to move in.

We need to prioritize healthcare more, then there would need to be less proirisation within healthcare. I include more funding for health based research within that- we leave far too much of such research to drug companies.

Cost is a huge part of it. It's not juse the treatment but the maternity costs, child benefits, tax credits etc. All of that adds put a huge amount.

I don't think it should be funded, what would be better is to provide it at cost rate plus a little extra that could go back into the NHS to fund other things. If the desire to have a child is that strong, then paying treatment wouldn't be an issue as couples would find the money somehow.
