The one in the sky - not the newspaper.

At least the Moon gives a bit of light off at night. The Sun shines only during the day when its light anyway???? Confused

LOVE YOU TO THE MOON AND BACK.

Is it further than the Sun? Is that why it is a better declaration of love than LOVE YOU TO THE SUN AND BACK Confused

Sun is much further away but you'd get all frazzled up if you went there and not come back which is probably why it sounds less romantic.

LordScuttlebutt · 06/04/2017 16:12

Aaah!! Thank you 1950sMum

The sun is a star. A source of all the elements. Well, some of the elements. Building blocks of other elements...

Orlantina · 06/04/2017 16:43

Don't you think it's pretty amazing how the sun and the Moon are perfectly sized and arranged in distance so they form a perfect eclipse?

IvyLeagueUnderTheSea · 06/04/2017 16:44

The Sun has it easy.

Poor Moon has been working night shift all this time. She needs to take it up with her line manager.

LordScuttlebutt · 07/04/2017 08:29

I have learned lots about the Sun - it's absolutely necessary.

It could burn us all up in a fireball any time it liked though. The moon could never hurt us!

YANBU bloody Sun - think the world revolves around!

Humphriescushion · 07/04/2017 08:36

It! Ffs

BarbaraofSeville · 07/04/2017 09:06

I think we might all notice how important the sun is pretty quickly if for whatever reason it didn't rise one morning, or even more catestrophically, stopped shining altogether.

LordScuttlebutt · 07/04/2017 11:07

If you even look at the sun for too long, you can go blind.

It's a scary thing - up in the sky - a child looks at it too long, or God forbid uses binoculars to look at it...... it looms over us. Could burn us up in a second if it wanted to.

Brrr!! I'm scared.
