To cause a massive scene in Sainsbury's car park

Earlier today I went to Sainsbury's with both my DD's (7&1) I was just about about to pull in to the last mother and baby space when someone cuts me up to park there, ok annoying as fuck but whatever.
I find another non baby space which is a very tight squeeze with my car (it's quite big) not to mention the whole faf off youngest DD and her car seat palava, so we've finally got out just about and set out to go in store, this is when I notice the guy who cuts me up is on his own, not only that I recognise he's the same guy who done this to me last week!
So I flipped out!
Blush I asked him where his kids were and does he think it's acceptable to be able bodied (I know this now I've recognised him as I actually went to school with him and he lives near me) and watch someone else struggle whilst he doesn't actually need the space.
So what I got back was him shouting to me 'you don't have to have kids to park here' and 'I'll park where the fuck I want'
By this time my oldest DD was very upset with our shouting and his swearing so I started to walk away, he proceeded to shout abuse behind me and it was all just very embarrassing really!
All in all I'm glad I called him out in front of lots of tutting and clapping people Blushbut I wish I hadn't upset my DD, I just hate disrespectful people! And I went in and reported him Grin

oh christ now it's the old 'I can't possibly get kids out without damaging a car' argument ...yet thousands of us do it every day!

BillyButtfuck · 05/04/2017 22:04

ScaryClown how have I been trolling or pedantic? Hmm

momma1701 · 05/04/2017 22:04

I said I would prefer it not 'couldn't possibly'

Meryl Streep would not yell in a car park. Maybe Charlotte Crosby.

PurpleDaisies · 05/04/2017 22:06

billy apparently you're mathematically pedantic. That's the best sort of pedant. Grin

I think it was pointing out that it was hard to get a large car in a small space. The standard for reaching the definition of "pedant" appears to be lower than I'd previously though.

CoffeeAndCakeEssentials · 05/04/2017 22:06

Can't believe the abuse you're getting OP. Good on you for standing up to the prat, I would've muttered at him under my breath and maybe shot dagger stares at his back because I'm a wimp! You did nothing wrong in my eyes. P&C spaces are exactly that... for PARENTS with their CHILDREN. Why do people not get this? There's even a stick man drawing on the space!

momma1701 · 05/04/2017 22:06

But she would if she was playing me, right? She's an actress, plays the role

He's obviously a deeply annoying man but you do not help matters by having a big car. Like someone else said get a smaller car

cherish123 · 05/04/2017 22:07

You clearly have an easy life with no problems if you have the time/energy to worry about this and write this. These spaces are not a right. For years they did not exist and people managed to park. You must sometimes park in car parks where there are not any P and C. OK. You were annoyed with him but it is hardly the biggest crime in the world. Maybe he was in a hurry/finds it difficult to park/was not feeling well. Complain? You were kicking off!!

momma1701 · 05/04/2017 22:08

I should change my car because of some idiot, seems legit!

Sparklingbrook · 05/04/2017 22:08

I think Meryl Streep would refuse the part. Standards.

BillyButtfuck · 05/04/2017 22:08

Aha thank you for clearing that up Purple.
I was just trying to highlight how over dramatic it was all starting to sound but apologies if I have pissed in anyone's cornflakes Blush

ArriettyClock1 · 05/04/2017 22:11

Yawn.

Nothing more tedious. We've heard this fiction a billion times on here.

Nomoreworkathome · 05/04/2017 22:11

No..... because you can't seem to manage with your current one.

supermoon100 · 05/04/2017 22:11

No need to change your car but just accept the downside of having a big car is you have less flexibility when it comes to parking.

momma1701 · 05/04/2017 22:11

Quite funny really no one had ever raised their voice in front of their child!
Well done top parents I'll need some tips leaving because that deserves a fucking medal!

If it's tedious, blah, blah don't read it or comment that's fine

OP, you're really going off on one now. Chill. It's quite clear you made this thread to get ass pats and because it's not going your way... well, you're doing what you did at Sainsbury's.

LineysRun · 05/04/2017 22:13

How much was his fine for his parking discourtesy? Can you ask him on Facebook?

Sparklingbrook · 05/04/2017 22:13

I have never raised my voice at a stranger in a car park in front of my children, no. Is that so odd?

WhatsthatTicking · 05/04/2017 22:13

I'm with you OP, I would feel the same and good on you for shaming him, I'm not brave enough... he sounds like a D!ck to me! Personally I would just feel better for getting it out my system and saying something rather than nothing, too bad your dd got upset but she will get over it and maybe learn she has to stick up for she believes!

Nomoreworkathome · 05/04/2017 22:13

OP....most people don't flip out at strangers in supermarket car parks. I certainly haven't. HTH. Can I claim my medal? Smile

ghostyslovesheets · 05/04/2017 22:13

I've NEVER had a public slanging match in front of my kids no - I doubt I am alone in that

msybe get some extra driving lessons and focus on parking ...

momma1701 · 05/04/2017 22:14

Not really, I don't mind people saying I was in the wrong that's why it's in 'aibu' but people telling me it's because I have a big car or they've seen it all before it's not really helping the aibu is it?
