To cause a massive scene in Sainsbury's car park

Earlier today I went to Sainsbury's with both my DD's (7&1) I was just about about to pull in to the last mother and baby space when someone cuts me up to park there, ok annoying as fuck but whatever.
I find another non baby space which is a very tight squeeze with my car (it's quite big) not to mention the whole faf off youngest DD and her car seat palava, so we've finally got out just about and set out to go in store, this is when I notice the guy who cuts me up is on his own, not only that I recognise he's the same guy who done this to me last week!
So I flipped out!
Blush I asked him where his kids were and does he think it's acceptable to be able bodied (I know this now I've recognised him as I actually went to school with him and he lives near me) and watch someone else struggle whilst he doesn't actually need the space.
So what I got back was him shouting to me 'you don't have to have kids to park here' and 'I'll park where the fuck I want'
By this time my oldest DD was very upset with our shouting and his swearing so I started to walk away, he proceeded to shout abuse behind me and it was all just very embarrassing really!
All in all I'm glad I called him out in front of lots of tutting and clapping people Blushbut I wish I hadn't upset my DD, I just hate disrespectful people! And I went in and reported him Grin

Yes, it's my work car and personal car ( that I pay tax on) for the PP comments, you know you can actually have a work car and pay personal tax, thus meaning cheaper tax on wages try it it's a good move if you don't go supermarket shopping

OP posts:
Itaintme · 05/04/2017 23:06

You could get a lot of shopping in that car.

momma1701 · 05/04/2017 23:06

I do, and a pram, two car seats probably a fence panel or two Grin

Sparklingbrook · 05/04/2017 23:07

That's not really a car is it? More a works van.

treaclesoda · 05/04/2017 23:07

I sometimes think I might be dead inside. I can't muster up any rage over crap parking. My parking-rage-o-meter only has about four levels; 'nice parking' 'ooh, that's a bit untidy' 'hmm, that makes things difficult' and 'mild irritation, with sighing and eyerolling and muttered insults'.

momma1701 · 05/04/2017 23:08

Yeah I suppose it is, but it's what I use as my car as it's the only one I have

Itaintme · 05/04/2017 23:08

No wonder you need a wide parking space.

Mammylamb · 05/04/2017 23:09

Nappies? What kind of convienience is that; Hmm

momma1701 · 05/04/2017 23:10

Oh and a boat load of nappies and wipes will fit in Grin

Momma I think the Lauren chick, the babysitter from Catastrophe would make a perfect actress to play you. I could imagine her losing her shit over a parking space in character.

Ollycat · 05/04/2017 23:12

Tge pay and display car park by our local Waitrose has no parent and child spaces. Bizarrely parents with children still manage to park there and access the supermarket- some of them with large cars too!

treaclesoda · 05/04/2017 23:13

momma I don't think I could drive one of those because I would be too tempted to put the kids on the outside. Imagine a journey without all that 'he looked at me' , 'she looked at me first!' stuff that is such a part of a family car journey...

momma1701 · 05/04/2017 23:15

It's more the point mine has them and they get abused, not that I can't park and today I spoke up about it because I think it's inconsiderate, I go to loads of places that don't have them, they are a luxury and a great one at that when you can get one, to watch and not bat an eyelid at someone struggling with their kids when you've cut them up and took a space you don't need it very rude

Exactly what Kittybiscuits said.

Worra you win the thread, I properly snort-laughed!

There is an awesome car park in a village near me where the spaces are all next to each other but sort of slanted sideways. Hard to explain but you can get into the spaces soooo easily, it's great.

OP I feel sorry for you, you've been pretty destroyed here. Can't bring myself to get too worked up about P&C spaces (although people parked on the lines give me the fucking rage), but you don't really deserve the trouncing you've had on here! AIBU opinion changes like the wind - post again tomorrow and you'll probably get a completely different set of replies. Don't let it get to you too much, it's just the internet.

AntagonyAunt · 05/04/2017 23:23

Crankycunt

you've played it out in your head as to what you wanted to do. And you've come on aibu embellished on your imagination

This seems to happen frequently in MN. Strange and strangely amusing.

DingDongtheWitchIsDangDiddlyDe · 05/04/2017 23:23

They did not give him a ticket, you big fibber. Not even possible!

momma1701 · 05/04/2017 23:24

We have those spaces at my local health centre they are a god send!!

It really doesn't touch the sides when people comment certain things, as I've said I will stand up for myself and people behind keyboards who try to 'bully' as people have mentioned make me laugh, I'm wrong to confront someone but they're right to abuse me over a screen, society

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 05/04/2017 23:24

If you park on the lines in my local town you actually get a ticket. A real one.

Sparklingbrook · 05/04/2017 23:25

If you think you have been bullied you can report those posts to MNHQ.

momma1701 · 05/04/2017 23:25

The ticket really did happen (everyone knows they aren't enforceable no a days through new law change) but he did get one, I've seen them do this plenty of times before on this car park when people are in spaces they shouldn't, on yellow boxes, zebra crossings etc.

OP posts:
momma1701 · 05/04/2017 23:26

I didn't say I have been, people mentioned this a few times that's why I inverted comma'd it

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 05/04/2017 23:28

Well AIBU is not for the faint hearted. You ask for opinions and people give them That's kind of the point of it.

And if anything breaches Talk Guidelines or doesn't seem right report it.

DingDongtheWitchIsDangDiddlyDe · 05/04/2017 23:29

Sure they did. Saying what? And are the p&c spaces properly sign posted saying that a ticket will be issued, what the fine is etc?
Chinny reckon at this whole thing. Which is good, because if you had actually started a slanging match in a car park in front of your children, you'd feel an awful tit and you wouldn't be boasting about it on here, surely>
