to ask if this was rude thing for stranger to say about DH?

Over the last 2 years, DH has often been mistaken for being a certain theatre singer. It's probably happened about 15-20 times - usually if we're out in Soho, but also on holiday in NYC. I must admit, I had never heard of this singer, but I have now. It is usually groups of Korean or Japanese women who approach him and often they either don't understand / don't accept that he is not who they think he is and just take photos or selfies anyway A few times he has signed "autographs" with a squiggle just to get away and out of the crowd.

Tonight we were leaving a restaurant and five Korean ladies asked DH if he was this person. They did speak quite good English and accepted that he is not, but one of them whispered to me that only some people have doubles and if DH ever sees or meets "the other one" then it's bad luck and "the end". I know this is ridiculous to post about, but the way she said it and looked at me has unnerved me for some reason. I'm not superstitious, but she has given me the creeps. Can I ask if anyone else has a so-called "double" and has anyone ever heard of anything like this at all?

I have a near double. We used to do similar (but not the same) job at work. I benefited most I think, as she could do my tasks ( and often did!) but I didn't have quite the same skill set so had to decline to do the complicated tasks she could do, when other staff members mistook her for me!

I have met her quite a few times and am still alive several years later

There was a programme recently on tv where they ran tests on doppelgänge who had found each other to,see who were the most identical pairs. It was fascinating.

I'm also an identical twin so I'm doomed(although have survived into my forties).

Ramon is gorgeous, you are very lucky! I wonder if he realises why so many women are googlimg him tonight!

Sorry if I sound crazy, it was a weird evening and I did not like the vibe of this woman. I kind of went cold when she grabbed my hand, even though I know she is talking rubbish.

I have a distant cousin who looks exactly like me. We have met numerous times over the last few years and neither of us died obviously.

Even if I thought I saw George Cloiney in the street, I wouldn't leg it over there and instantly start taking selfies and then make a cryptic comment of doom when it was revealed he was actually not George Clooney!

It's obviously a load of shit, like all superstitions are, but it's a superstition nonetheless (and held by many cultures).

He was in the 25th phantom concert and was the original phantom in the sequel, love never dies. And was in les miserable 25th concert.

Such a lovely voice. I'd start playing his songs/ put the concert on the TV when Dh is around to annoy him !

My hubby has a double, he was at our hotel on holiday recently. A guy came l we asking him how he got on on the trip out and we were what trip out?!
Then we saw him in The hotel lobby and it was like looking in the mirror for my Dh!! (He's still alive) and got a new freind!

I think the theory is that, if you meet your actual double (who would be from a parallel universe) then matter and antimatter cannot occupy the same space and you both explode. That's where it comes from obviously
