FIL & feminism

I am probably being a bit fragile but for background- my husband walked out of his job two years ago, has not worked since due to depression. Over that time I have worked really hard to keep everything together and manage on our limited budget. Over at in-laws today and my M-I-L expresses some sympathy for me having to work next week while child and husband off. To which my F-I-L says 'Ha! Well, that's feminism for you. Make them all work on, that's equality!' which he seemed to think was hilarious. I am quite gutted - it feels like a bit of a smack in the face. And I never have any sort of witty comeback or even ready response Sad So AIBU to want some appreciation for keeping their son afloat too?

He is an offensive moron. Pay no attention to him. 💐
