Why can't people just be quiet?!

Not so much an AIBU but just need to vent. I was sitting in my usual coffee shop and after half an hour had to move because of a girl on the next table's screeching laugh shattering my eardrums every 30 seconds. It wasn't just occasionally,it was every other thing she or her 2 companions said had to be accompanied by a high pitched screech of laughter. So I moved a comfortable distance away, only to have the woman on the next table start watching a TV programme on her tablet, with the volume up really loud. Haven't these people ever heard of earphones?! Am I just getting grouchy as I get older or do some people have absolutely no consideration of how their noise impacts on other people?

I always seem to attract people like this. wherever I go I am surrounded by screeching cacklers or booming voices. Its horrendous.

I like to think that they don't actually know how loud they are. If they do then they are simply cunts.

I once had some woman behind me on a bus on my way back from a 12 hour shift at work. She was talking loudly into her mobile then honestly screeched at the top of her voice right into my ear about how mandy had kissed karl or something, then started cackling. I did tell her to calm the fuck down. I was in no mood for it and she actually hurt my ear..quite why she felt the need to sit right forward so she was closer to me whilst going on like a fool I don't know. She went red and started talking normally for the rest of the journey and somehow had a 'normal' laugh instead of the screechy cackle of doom that she was putting on minutes before. So it can be done.

I hate noise, and find myself constantly thinking shut the fuck up on many occasions!
My workplace is noisy, luckily i only work three days a week so can cope with it, just.
On my four days off, its just me and the dog as my DH works long hours and is gone before i wake up and not back until late its bliss.
The tv is never on, music is never played, just the ticking of the clock, the sounds of cows and the sheep in the fields.
I also hate the summer as everything is louder, give me a freezing cold rainy day where all the fair weathered dog walkers stay in, we can walk for miles without meeting anyone.
Why are people so loud?

This drives me nuts.

DH and I went out for dinner last night to our small local pub. We were sitting quite happily and chatting waiting for our food when a group of people came in, ignored the dozens of empty tables and plonked themselves down right next to us.

They then proceeded to have the loudest conversation, all shouting over each other, shrieky laughing and generally making a huge racket.

DH and I couldn't hear each other speak, it was impossible to chat

We did move away in the end, but they were still really loud so we just ate our main courses and left.

I find there's always someone who seems to think the rest of us should listen to their conversation.

I don't want to sit in silence, but I'd like to be able to hear the person I'm talking to
